Little Known Activities

We go to disney once or twice a year, and I always try to do something different that we have not done before. However, I am running out of ideas. We have done the usual CRT< fantasmic, illuminations, etc. We are going in october on halloween. Any suggestions?

Re: Little Known Activities

This is a fun one. So here is a list that comes to mind quickly:

* breakfast at Spoodles on the Boardwalk. There are a couple of different ways to get there in the morning. One is on MGM EMH day, take an early bus to MGM and take the launch to BW. Another is on Epcot EMH day and walk through Epcot to the International Gateway and walk back to BW. (You can also take the launch from the Gateway to BW)
* Make time to see the various "street performances" at Epcot, both in Future World and the World Showcase. They are all on a schedule that you can get at the entrance. I love the Jammitors. There are similar shows at MK as well.
* I'll assume that you've already hit all of the various dinner shows and character meals, but if you're not sure, go to the Disney Website. Here's a link for all the Character Meals: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw...ubmit&x=7&y=11
* If you like to walk, did you know that you can walk from Epcot to MGM? You can follow the canal used by the launch.
* La Nouba!

That's my short list. If I come up with any more, I'll post them.

Re: Little Known Activities

Have you considered going horseback riding? The horse path over at the campgrounds is quite nice. My DD and I went a few years ago. For the most part the horses are well behaved and I believe it was about an hour ride. When we went you had to go to the Grand Floridian to sign up and then went over to the campgrounds for the actual ride.

Have fun,
-harry

Re: Little Known Activities

How about a stoll on the Boardwalk and then ice cream at Beaches n Cream and watch Illuminations after?

The ESPN club is a fun time for dinner. They get the crowd involved in a show taping (don't know if it is real or not). Whether you are into sports or not, you will have a lot of fun.

Or...at Ft. Wilderness they have nightly outdoor Disney movies. You could go to Trails End for dinner and head over for the movie.

Did you know that House of Blues in DTD has concerts? You can pick up a schedule at the restaurant.

Well, that is all that I can think of for now.

Re: Little Known Activities

I have to agree that Ft Wilderness is a neat place to visit --it's beautiful to just walk around (near the petting zoo/beach area, anyway, I haven't been to other areas), there are peacocks everywhere. Like others have mentioned, there are the trail rides, there's the petting zoo (and pony rides for little ones), the stable (you can see the horses that pull the various Main St vehicles etc there), there's a "swamp walk", there's Trail's End Buffet, and also carriage rides. You can catch a boat off the dock to or from MK and the Wilderness Lodge, so there's a cool tie-in to be had with either or both of those. Wilderness Lodge has some great restaurants --Artist's Point for adults, Whispering Canyon for goofy fun, there's a beautiful bar inside. And it's just beautiful to see (both inside & out)! They also have surrey bikes for rent at WL to zoom around the paths on. You can see the Water Pageant from either the WL or FW beach.

There's a flag raising ceremony each morning at WL that you can sign up to participate in, up on the roof, with a fair amount of pomp and circumstance, as I understand...I don't know if you have to be staying there to participate.

Please excuse if you know all this already!

You do have to be a guest at WL to be a flag family. We have been lucky enough to be a flag family and it was awesome.

You can also take a guided tour of the lodge. 'Wonders of the Lodge' tour is offered at 9 am on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. You do not have to be a guest at WL to take the tour. There is also a list of hidden Mickeys at WL, you can get the list at guest services.

How about surfing lessons at TL? This was the highlight of my DS's trip.

It's the password of the Adventurer's Club. When you are inducted into the Club as Honourary Members,(and EVERYONE'S an Honourary Member) you take an oath, ending with "Kungaloosh!". After that, whenever members meet they greet each other with "Kungaloosh". It's nuts, but it's fun. (BTW, there's also a Club song. "Marching along we're Adventurers...")
