Well...that's all. I know there will always be some changes from last year to this year. I noticed that they left out the Crystal Palace in 2003, but it should be open. And "it's a small world" will probably still be closed this year. and I the Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree will be different this year.

But this should give some newbies an idea of what to expect and what to plan for.

šoš Have fun planning.

šoš Sincerely, Ray

I was looking at the map again and I will try to describe "Where TO Find..." from last year 2003. Of course these may change a little bit this year, but most of locations are about the same. Maybe this can help you plan, too.

1. Where is Santa Claus to take pictures with the kids of all ages sitting on his lap?"

šoš Besides seeing Santa high on his chair in the parade, he was located in only one spot. As you enter the MK, and walk under the railroa station, go to your LEFT side. Santa is located outside on the left side of the City Hall. Usually you will see the Popcorn vendor on the curb. Look to your left. He'll be waving to you...ho...ho...ho.

2. Where do you go to get your free holiday pictures taken and free MVMCP Button? (Note: Fill out a card for every member in your family to get a picture for each ticket that you bought. Except for the pictures that you want, and you take a family picture, make out the other cards to the grandparents address or some other friend.) Last year there were only three places. My favorite is in Adventureland where the cookies and hot cocoa were near by.

šoš Last year, in Advertureland as you cross the bridge on your right near the Alola Isle dole whip place The Magic Carpets of Alladin. Although a couple of years ago they set them up in the Adventureland Pirates of the Caribbean on your left.

šoš Last year in the Liberty Square to the right of The Hall of Presidents. A couple of years ago they set up across the street in the Liberty Tree Riverboat entrance. This can be a busy intersection.

šoš Last year in the Fantasyland "it's a small world" attraction. But I think that this attraction is closed this December. They could still hold it here though. Also a very busy place sometimes.

šoš Last year in the Tomorrowland near the Timekeeper before you reach Buzz. I don't remember this place before.

3. There were only three places to find cookies and cocoa:

šoš In Adventureland right next to the photo taking place on your right as you cross the bridge between the Aloha Isle Dole Whip place and the attraction, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. This is my favorite place to go.

šoš In Liberty Square right next the photo taking place on your right between the Hall of Presidents and sometimes the Riverboat. This is a busy intersection.

šoš At the counter service of the Plaza Pavilion. If you were walking up Mainstreet, you could hang a right before the bridge next to the Plaza Ice Cream Shop and walk straight to the Plaza Pavilion counter. To get a picture, just continue around to your left to the Tomorrowland Timekeeper area.

4. There were ten Favorite Character locations on the map. I don't remember who they were.

šoš In the center circle of Mainstreet between the flag pole and the huge christmas tree.

šoš Off Mainstreet on a side street on the right, just past the jewlery store and before the bakery. This is easy to miss because you will probably looking at the castle.

šoš In Adventureland between the Swiss Family Treehouse and the Jungle Cruise on the left.

šoš In Adventureland in front of the Carabbean Cruise.

šoš In Frontierland, hidden behind the Christmas Shoppe on your left as you cross the bridge. Most people don't venture this way. But if you were in front of the Crystal Palace, and take the road over the bridge it will also lead you to the place behind the Christmas Shop.

šoš In Frontierland, between the Shootin' Arcade and the Country Bear Jamboree.

šoš In Fantasyland in the Character Festival, just northeast of Dumbo attraction.

šoš In Toontown Hall of Fame Tent where the characters usually are located.

šoš In Toontown between Donald's Boat and Goofy's Brainstormer.

šoš Between the Fantasyland Mad Tea Party attraction and the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway.

Sometimes, near the end of MVMCP, as everyone is leaving, several Disney Characters appear in front of the Town Square Exposition Hall.

Start the planning. And remember this is from last year's Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Guidemap that is only handed out as you enter that night.

I'll tell you what I'll do, I'll be arriving November 28th and eating at the California Grille. I'll try and walk over to the MK and ask for a 2004 MVMCP Guidemap and update it early November 29th on my WebTV.

Sincerely, Ray

Guess what Dave Card did for me. He scanned the 2003 MVMCP Guidemap and said that I could share these pictures with everyone. Thank you, Dave.

I picked it up at Magic Kingdom under the railroad pass through, the night that I went to MVMCP.

If you would like my 2003 MVMCP Gidemap, I would be happy to mail it to you.

Ray:

That's quite a generous offer, but the work you put into last night's post is more than enough.

Thanks so much!

Another tip that I learned when I went to NOJ is if it rains, enquire if they are giving out ponchos free. They did at NOJ,although they didn't advertise it.

I added some more stuff from the 2003 MVMCP Guidemap. Like the places to meet characters, get cookies and cocoa, family photos, and see Santa Claus.

You are the coolest. We really appreciate the work that you're doing posting this here.

I haven't had a chance to respond to your generous e-mail. Honestly, this post is more than enough. I'm sure there are others that haven't been to WDW as often as I have that might appeciate having a color pamphlet.

Thanks again.

Re: 2003 MVMCP Guidemap times, shows, shops, food info to help plan for 2004.

Thanks for the help. We are arriving on Sunday afternoon, taking a quick nap with the kids, and then heading to MVMCP as the start to our vacation week!

Any advice on how long the lines will be for attractions? Some who went prior to 2003 have told me they won't go back to MVMCP because of the long lines, but others have said there was almost no wait in 2003 due to Disney limiting ticket sales.

I guess what I'm wondering is, parades & shows aside, how much of the MK are we going to be able to tour during the evening?

If lines are long, I was considering focusing our attention just on Tomorrowland & Toon Town. This would allow us to use the Extra Magic Hour on Thursday to focus on Fantasyland (and the other lands later in the day).

Thanks again for helping me plan my trip.

Re: 2003 MVMCP Guidemap times, shows, shops, food info to help plan for 2004.

You are all very welcome. I can't wait.

I'll see if I can answer some of your questions. But this is just my personal experience. I certainly am not an expert on the subject.

1. For most of WDW parks and events, I seem to notice that most of the local residents visit on their days off work on the weekends. This seems to be the more crowded days in December.

2. I also notice that the the first Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday after Thanksgiving weekend seem to be the least crowded days in the first two weeks of December.

3. For MVMCP night it seems that everyone walks down Mainstreet and stops in front of the castle to watch the first stage show. Boy is it crowded their.

4. Then everyone stays near the castle or back up Mainstreet to save a place for the first MVMCP Holiday Parade.

5. The last couple of years the MVMCP may officially start at 1900, but many people can enter the MK at 1600 and use their MVMCP ticket to get their MVMCP wrist band. This will allow you to write some extra rides three hours before the official opening.

6. There is a great Holiday show in the Tomorrowland auditorium that actually starts before 1900 and is a great way to see one of the first MVMCP shows.

7. And you can also plan a dinner before MVMCP at Crystal Palace and head out to the Adventureland and get your family photos, and see some characters and ride Pirates of the Carribean.

8. If you skip the first parade, you can take advantage of the Fantasyland rides being slightly slower lines.

9. Toontown is always a great place to visit.

10. But don't forget to watch the very special MVMCP Wishes fireworks.

11. Most people seem to leave down Mainstreet after the second parade because the kids are so tired. Especially if they have been up all day. So the later that you can stay the shorter the lines can be.

Have a great time.
