Fantasmic!
Ok....I would like to see Fantasmic! when we go in Dec., but I am travelling with my DD who will just be 3. For those of you who have seen the show would you recommend that I see it this time or wait until my DD is a little older. I don't think that she would be afraid when it gets dark, but I don't know much about the show, so I don't know what to expect.

Re: Fantasmic!
It's an outdoor show with about 5,000 to 6,000 people. It's at MGM. You can wait in line to get a seat or do a dinner package at H&V, Mama Melrose, or Brown Derby to get into a reserved seating area. There is alot of lazer lighting on walls of spraying water (what a description) and fireworks and floats with charaters on them and there is a theme about Mickey (who does appear thoughout the show) beating the villians. O.K. I'am tired of typing. It's alot of Disney fun. Joe

Its an awsome show. I think she/he (DD?) would enjoy it. The only part she/he might be affraid of is the dragon at the ending of the show. But other than that not really anything is scary. So yea, I think you should take her/him to see the show. :-) :-)

Re: Fantasmic!
I think you should try it! With so many people there if something, like the noise, does scare her there will be plenty of movement, etc to divert her attention to. I know she will love most of it and probably all of it! Without a doubt it is the best thing I have ever seen at DW in all of my 15 trips.

Re: Fantasmic!
Yes! She'll love it - my kids have been different ages when seeing it & nobody was afraid at all. My daughter especially loved seeing the princesses float by with their princes. They still talk about it - we've seen it twice & will definitely see it next time. We've done it with the dinner package & without - honestly, it was just as easy to see it without the package - we did wait in line for about 20 minutes but that was it. Enjoy!

Re: Fantasmic!
Definetly go to this. Depending on when you are going to be there in December consider the Fantasmic Package.

Re: Fantasmic!
If a 2-3 year old can run up to me when I'm workin w/ Sully, then watching Fantasmic will seem about as scary as riding Carousel of Progress. Course, when Jafar gets in touch w/ his inner cobra in the show, it does give tingles. But I think she'll be fine. See you in Dec!

My son was never in the hide-your-face mode. In fact one of his very first big words was "imagination" and it came out of his 20-month old mouth during that show. "Mama, it's Mickey's imagination!" (Clue in Mom and Dad looking at each other in disbelief) |

Re: Fantasmic!
A couple of suggestions:1. Sit near the back. You can get out easily. The noise is not as loud. You don't get wet. 2. Reservations for dinner at Hollywood and Vine are definitely worth not having to stand in line-even 20 minutes.

Re: Fantasmic!
Another yes vote from me. No where near as scary as Honey I Shrunk the Audiance ( that was a total disaster for us!). The floats and the effects are great. I do agree with sitting in the back.
Enjoy, -harry

Re: Fantasmic!
While sitting in the back may get you out quicker, I say do the dinner package and then you'll sit up front. I have seen the show from in back and up front and while it is awesome anywhere you sit, sitting up front was incredible!

Re: Fantasmic!
Do the dinner package thing, it beats standing in line and you have to eat anyway. Hollywood & vine is the least expensive and they have a good buffet. Definitely go. We have taken our kids every year since they were babies with no problems.

Re: Fantasmic!
Thanks to everyone who has responded. We have decided that we will give it a try & are going to do the dinner package. I am not sure which restaurant yet, but am strongly leaning toward Hollywood & Vine. My DH feels as long my DD will be around us (we are also bringing my mother & grandmother), she should be okay. Dd is not one to generally get frightened easily, but once she is it will difficult coaxing her to try other things while there. Very strong-willed even at her young age! Thanks again. I will keep you posted on which restaurant we choose.
