Monorail on EMH days - begin early?

Does the monorail begin operating an hour early for Epcot and MK EMH days?

On our last day, we have a PS for 1900 Park Fair for 8:30am because I was hoping that we'd be able to grab the earliest bus to Epcot (it's a Wed, so therefore EMH) and then take the monorail to the TTC. It's not meant to be efficient, it's meant to be fun.

But I just realized that I might be assuming something.

Does anyone know about this?

Yep, they do. We stayed at the Poly last time and it ran very early actually. We were like you though - actually not as good as you - we didn't think to ask until we were there! But we had no problems with monorail and EMH.

Re: Monorail on EMH days - begin early?

When we were there in September, we had a Pooh Breakfast, I originally wanted it for 8:00 AM Monday; but we were told that since that is not an early day, the transporation would not start until 8:00. If it would have been an early day, the transporation would have started at 7:00 AM. Hope this helps.

All transportation services start about 1-2 hrs prior to the opening of the park they are traveling to. Your best bet would be a bus directly from your resort to the park.

That's exactly my point. I'm not going to a park. I'm going to the Grand Floridian and it's one of those "you can't get there from here" deals.

We'll be staying at the Pop Century and we have a PS for the 1900 CB at 8:30am. But it's an Epcot EMH day. The earliest bus for MK will likely be somewhere close to 8am which doesn't get me on the monorail until 8:25 at the earliest.

But, by taking a 7:15 bus to Epcot, we'll be on the monorail by about 7:40 and at the TTC by about 8:00 which is plenty to time to make the PS.

Make sense?

Makes perfect sense to me Matt, but I am operating in total Disney mode right now. I like to use the monorails as preferred mode of transportation and since your are going that early in the morning from Epcot to the GF, you might even try to ride up front. There probably won't be anyone else trying to do that at that time of day and it should be really easy.

I understand - lawwin is right. If you haven't ridden up front before, ask. We had no problems getting rides up front and that was over spring break. Your kids will like it - mine still talk about it.

I would think that the monorail would be up and running. People rely on it to get to their PS's at resorts. Now that I know all the details I would say yes definetly should be up and running.

MerlinMatt we were there last week and the monorail to Epcot was running before 8 so I would think you could easily get on the monrail from Epcot to the TTC and still make it to the GF before 8:30!!!

Hope that helps!!!

DUH! Do I LOOK like a rookie?

It's funny, in May, we never did the monorail btw Ep and MK. Our plan just never required it. But we did ride the monorail quite a few times for the 1900 CB twice and once for Ohana.

This time, we'll be on the monorail quite a bit with at least 2 trips planned between EP and MK. So, we'll be asking for the front cab as often as we can.

I LOVE DISNEY!!!

Hey... shouldn't you be packing the car? Your mom's gonna be ticked in the morning if you ain't ready to go. LOL
