Ok guys, on another thread, someone was talking about Honey I Shrunk the Audience and I was thinking that my kids haven't seen that yet.

Last year, we did It's a Bugs Life and while the kids loved it, DW wasn't terribly thrilled with the bugs at the end. (I'm trying not to give it away for those who haven't seen it yet.)

So, for those of you who hate that stuff too, how would someone convince you to go to those shows?

If DW is really afraid of mice or snakes then do not go. It is frightening.

My DD is very much not the bug and mouse person and was not to thrilled with the way I tricked her into Honey I shrunk the audience. How am I getting her on it this time? I told her that she will have the privilage and pleasure of tricking my DBF's son into it who is also not a bug or mouse person....kids are evil LOLOLOL She is even more tickled about tricking him into Beverly like I did to her LOLOLOL Seriously Matt, if you DW really doesn't like them kinds of things, you should just let her skip it and you take the kids.

I left one part out. She HAS seen it before. We went when DS was 3.5 and just really haven't made the time for the Imagination Pavillion. Last year, we did the Figment ride and got my digital pics dumped onto a disk, but on our most recent trip, we didn't go over there at all.

There's just so much stuff to do and we're maybe a bit of an odd family. We love to eat at nice restaurants and we really enjoy things like the TTA (or Wedway People Mover as I prefer to call it.) Last trip, we rode the TTA about 5 or 6 times on our last day.

So, none of us seem to be all that motivated for the movie type shows, although DW LOVES Philharmagic. Donald is her favorite, so anything that stars Donald is, of course, alright with her.

Anyway, I'm rambling. I think I might just have to see how it goes.

Best yet. You aren't a strange family matt. Everyone has their own way of seeing WDW and their favorite attractions. My DD loved the people mover. We went on it with llama and her DH and found a new favorite attraction. Amazing how something so simple like a ride around the park in a little cart can make you happy. I loved just relaxing and watching the people and sneaking a peek at the different attractions. It was a nice slow paced relaxing ride.

If she's seen it before, then just have her do what I do. The snake thing is o.k. w/ me, but the mice thing, OMG!!! I thought I was going to DIE the first time I saw that!! Anyway, the 2nd time I saw it with my parents, I told my mother (who's also afraid of mice) about when it would happen, and just shut my eyes and picked my feet up off the floor ... and sat there giggling while everyone around was screaming! (BTW, I think you need to put your feet basically ON the seat. I had tried the first time I saw it simply raising them a few inches off the ground thinking that would do it, but then a "mouse" crashed RIGHT into my leg and I screamed sooooooo loud!, so I didn't take that chance the second time.)

As for Bug's Life, if you just sit forward in your seat (as in, don't have your back against the back of it), NO bugs!! I mean yeah, they still drop from the ceiling, but they don't run under your seat or poke at you or anything. All that is built into the back of the seat, so if you sit on the edge of it with your feet planted on the floor, nothing happens TO you. :)

I absolutely HATE bugs... they seriously freak me out. I get freaked out in the Bugs Life show, but I love it and I do it everytime. But I must admit, I cheat like you, Amneris! Anyways, MerlinMatt, I guess it depends if your DW likes the show enough to be willing to get scared & disgusted for a while. If not, she's seen it already... no big deal. Maybe she'd be willing to wait while you take the kiddies.

I hate mice and snakes and it was not too bad! However, when I saw the mice I put my feet up on the chair because I knew what was going to happen next! Then when I saw the snake I covered my eyes I have such an unreal fear of snakes.

Other than that I loved it so maybe your DW could use those tips!

LOL. Matt, I don't think I could recoment this for ur DW. I am not scared of the things in the show, but it still freaks me out. Now that I totally know the plot of the show, it doesn't bother me. Let's just say I make some preparations....

I love It's Tough to be a bug. When I go with first-timers,I just pretend to stand up and stretch and put on my backpack. I love the looks on their faces when the bugs come!!(insert evil cackle)!!!!
