Typhoon Lagoon closing this winter?

Does anyone have any information about Typhoon Lagoon closing for rehab or when this winter?

thanks - trying to track this one down.

While I haven't heard anything, it wouldn't suprise me. We went two winters in a row, a couple years ago, and each time, one of the water parks was closed for refurbishment. Now that I think about it, last winter was the last time I was there when both big water parks were open.

I'll see if I can find anything concrete for you.

Thanks Mickey! I was so desparate I called CRO and lucked out getting someone who's been there a while. She said that although it's not posted, TL is due for a closing, and will probably happen Dec/Jan... Sigh...

Thanks! I guess I am going to have to call tomorrow and bug a couple CMs until I get some information. I'll see if I can find anything else out.

I called today to make reservations for surfing at TL and was told the rehab is October 2 through December 29. We were disappointed but will look to spend the surfing money elsewhere. ;)

I can't tell you thanks enough for this post. My husband and I have been to WDW four time and have never gone to a waterpark! But after reading about them we want to go to TL! So we will have to make sure that it's during the first part of our trip since we are there the 29th - the 5th!

I called back when I saw TL hours posted for October and was told TL is open in October but the surfing lessons are under rehab! The CM could not tell me when TL will close this season but it is usually in the Dec/Jan time frame.

I spoke with a CM yesterday when making my reservation (we wanted to confirm that Blizzard Beach would be open) and was told BB would be closed during January and part of Feb. She couldn't give me specific dates but confirmed it would be open in December when we were going. The CM told me that the water parks are closed at alternating times each winter for maintenance work.
