Anyone Know What Jersey Week Is ?
I'm going Nov 3 through the 8. Can anyone tell me is this Jersey week and what is Jersey week. Thanks Tina

I can answer this question. Jersey week is the first week of November. The public schools in NJ are closed Thusday and Friday of that week for a teachers convention. They are also closed this year on Tuesday for Election Day. Some schools districts are closed the entire week, while others are open for the two remaining days. It is called Jersey week, because a lot families from NJ, including my family this year, take a trip to WDW that week (except we are staying over at Universal Studios this time).

That is right! Practically the WHOLE state of NJ will be there!
 This is my 1st time going so I dont know how the crowds are but I hear they aren't too bad. But I can guarantee it won't be like Easter week!!  and my daughter's school has the Whole week off. They had off last year too, for the entire week...

I just read on All Ears that Jersey week is busy... It also stated that New Jersey is one of the areas that is Disney's biggest draw!!

Is this only for the first week of November? I will be there Nov.13-18 and I am just wondering if this will affect me. Is this for the entire resort?

Wooo-Hooo! Just realized that I will be in Jersey at the same time EVERYBODY ELSE has gone to WDW!!! I can drive on deserted highways! I can shop in blissfully calm malls! I can eat at great restaurants without reservations! I can swim in other people's pools and speed down our main drag and wear sweatpants at the grocery store! PARTY ON!!!

What about President week in February? Is this a Jersey week too or some other state? I've read that the crowds are huge during this week.

I know this is OT, but WHAT is it with these teenage girls thinking pajama bottoms are to be worn outside one's bedroom??? Geesh. I walk by them on the streets nearly every day on my way home from work.
I don't see how THAT many people from NJ could be headed to WDW that week to make that much of a difference. That's really weird. As for NJ being a big draw to WDW, it's a very conveint location for travel -- THREE airports - Newark, JFK and LaGuardia. I don't know about Newark, but JFK and LGA have non-stop flights to Orlando and have Jet Blue there so it's a piece of cake getting to Florida. Perhaps NJ is one of the more densly populated states??? There's a lot of spill-over from people who work in Manhattan yet live in NJ who look pretty attractive on the potential WDW-ers list.

Oh, yeah, and when you already live 20minutes from NYC, where ELSE is there to go on vacation to except Florida?? 5th Ave shopping, Broadway shows -- ordinary stuff! :) So that's one major vacation destination NJers wouldn't even consider. Of course, leaving ONLY WDW! ;)
