December 2005
I am just curious. I wonder how many DCers plan well ahead for their next Disney vacation. I hope I am not the only one who is such a planner. I have already booked our rooms at ASMovies for Dec. 19-26, 2005 and I am now trying to decide where we want to stay Dec. 16-19 since DH and I decided we wanted to be sure to see MVMCP. Is there anyone out there who is already planning a Christmas 2005 trip. I sure hope I am not the only one who thinks this far ahead!

Re: December 2005
I think if I knew that far in advance, I would. I'll actually begin planning my MNSSHP trip for next year starting next week. DM has already begun asking for dates, so I'll be ordering one AP so that I can start getting all the inside information.
I think it's a great idea to plan this far ahead. It gets some of the little details out of the way.

Re: December 2005
Being in the military all of our marriage, 12 years, we have never planned a trip that far in advance. Heck, even the trips I try to plan 4 months out get scrapped half the time..right now we have to do our trips on a shorter time schedule but when DH retires, we WILL be planning trips further in advance than a couple months..lol

Re: December 2005
We plan that far ahead too. We are going in January 2005 and then we are going to go back in December 2005, but we have to go in the early part of December as I work at a hospital and we are not allowed to have vacation during the two weeks prior to Christmas. But the really exciting trip is that in 2006 DH and myself are going to be married 25 years and we are planning on our first Disney Cruise. I think half the fun is in the planning.

Re: December 2005
We plan that far ahead or better. We will be going down in Dec of 2005 also. This time we will have four family along with us so you need the time to get everything ready. We'll be staying at the Shades of Green this time. But normally we stay at the POR(Dixie Landings to us Old Timers). The more family that goes the longer it takes to set everything up.

Re: December 2005
I am hoping to go either in October of '05 or December ~ just trying to decide when we'd like to go. We usually plan 3 months ahead - so this is a first for me!

Re: December 2005
I'm really hoping to go next December. This year, I'm planning a girls-only trip during Mousefest week (all our DHs and kids can fend for themselves for a few days). If it turns out to be half as much fun as I think it will, I'm guessing my friends will all want to return next year.
So, to answer your question, I'm thinking the one-year mark should start our planning.

Re: December 2005
Oooh, we went to mousefest last year and it was such a blast. You will have a great time ddoll!!! Poohfan, I know what you mean. Our youngest will be six in 2006 so we are hoping that is a good age to go. Our two older sons will be 16 and 14 and are really looking forward to hanging out in the teen lounge. I am chronic worrier though and I keep having panic attacks worrying about our little guy and the balcony on the verandah. My husband tells me to calm down but i stress about things like that. Right now my big stressor is worring whether or not we will like Pop Century this year after staying at Port Orleans last year.

Re: December 2005
Consider me guilty! We have several trips planned ranging from summer 2005 all the way through 2007....but I'm not alone, I have an accomplice who happens to be a DC'er too!
It's so much fun to plan, plan, plan!! And include 3 generations in on it too!!!

Re: December 2005
I always plan a little over a year in advance. I like having the time to pay things off & still save money. I also like having the time to make sure that nothing is overlooked. I research & research & then research some more! I tend to join forums for places I like to visit so I can get inside scoop & up to date news. Everyone I know thinks I am crazy for planning things so far in advance. I was beginning to think that maybe I was the only one that did it that way. Glad to know that I am not.

Re: December 2005
Me and my boyfriend planned out trip in 3 months. Its a lot easier that way for us because if we had more than a year to do it, we would never actually sit down and get it down. The less time we have, the more we are "forced" into it.
