Watching Wishes

OK I was wanting to get a PS for Ohanas the night we are at MK. I have heard sevearl of you mention that you get great views of Wishes from MK, and wanted to confirm that.

Also, I wanted to expirience Wishes in person one night, and get some great pictures to post back here for DC. Where is the best spot to watch Wishes?? I think it might have been Matt or Tom, that said it is best to view Wishes behind the castle, instead of from Main Street. I know I would miss Tink's flight, but I would be OK with that if I got great fireworks views.

Any opinions?

Re: Watching Wishes

I have seen Wishes from the beach at the Poly, and it was fine, but no music. After I saw it with the music, I don't think we will head back to the beach again, unless we are in the area, and aren't there for the fireworks alone.

We watched it a couple of weeks ago from the bridge into tomorrowland. Tink flew right over my head, which was cool. I personally think you can see them from anywhere. Fantasyland might be interesting.

Re: Watching Wishes

Saw Wishes last week from Ohanas, you could really see everything. My Uncle who is a retired cast member said it was not the same as seeing it with the music.

Re: Watching Wishes

I have heard several options. Most say Wishes is best seen from the Main St area where all the side fireworks can be seen framing the castle. I have also heard that viewing from the train station is lovely, as well as anywhere in the hub.

Personally, I like to be able to watch Tink fly over me, so we tend to head somewhere by the Tomorrowland bridge too.

Re: Watching Wishes

There isn't any music for Wishes, at Ohanas????!!!! I thought they turned down the lights, and played the Wishes music during the show. I may have to reconsider where we are eating dinner that night if this is true.

Re: Watching Wishes

My favorite place to watch parades and fireworks in MK is on top of the train station. It's perfect for viewing. You have to get there at least an hour before show time however, but I have always enjoyed sitting there people watching and enjoying a nice box of the best popcorn in the world. the place that plays the music to wishes during dinner is the california grill I think at the contemporary.

Re: Watching Wishes

When we were there they had the music/jimminy cricket playing in Ohana and on the beach/beach bar area. Maybe this is something new they have done this year? but it was like this in March and May this year as well as a week and some ago. It it one of the reasons the Poly is so magical for us.

Re: Watching Wishes

I still say Wishes is best right by the castle on Main Street... it feels like you're right in the center of it.

Re: Watching Wishes

We saw it in the courtyard in front of Pinocchio Village Haus. We missed Tinkerbell's flight, but since we hadn't planned on staying for the fireworks it was an unexpected treat. The twinking white lights in the trees there made it even nicer. We could see everything perfectly.

Re: Watching Wishes

The music is piped into Ohanas and be sure to arrive for your ressie early and ask for a table by the window. An added treat to seeing the fireworks from Ohana is that you will also be able to see the electrical water parade.
