Annual Pass Questions?

If we buy an annual pass for WDW and have to move to WA state b/c of the military before our annual pass expires, can we change it to DL? Also can you do this w/ Park Hoppers too? Say we only use 3 days on our 5 day hopper and have to move to the west coast..will DL let us use the other 2 days in their park even though the tickets were purchased in WDW?

Also are there any sites where I can get a listing of the benefits of having an annual pass..ie. Discounts, etc.

Thank you!

Re: Annual Pass Questions?

To the best of my knowledge, passes aren't interchangeable between the different theme parks.

No, Disney World and Disneyland passes aren't interchangeable. Here's where you can check out passholder benefits.

Re: Annual Pass Questions?

Well, you do have one option. If you do have days left on a park hopper from WDW, you can take it to DL, and exchange it for a DL pass. Annual Passes are interchangable between parks.

Really? So I could go to DL with my WDW AP?

So either way I am good if we have to move right? If I get a Hopper at WDW, DL will take that one and give me one of their hoppers w/ my days left on it AND Annual Passes are accepted at either park?

Re: Annual Pass Questions?

Found this on allearsnet.com ~ Thanks for your help everyone!

Can I use my WDW tickets at Disneyland or any other Disney park?

Yes and no. The only WDW passes that you can use are Park Hopper and Park Hopper Plus passes and even then only at Disneyland. You will have to take the ticket to Guest Relations at DL and they will have to call WDW Guest Relations to confirm that the ticket is still valid. There is a drawback though. When the PH gets converted, you will lose the ability to park hop at DL so you can only see Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure, not both in 1 day. You cannot use WDW AP/PAP's at Disneyland. None of the other Disney parks will accept admission media from any other park.

Re: Annual Pass Questions?

I have a question about renewing my Annual Pass. We haven't decided if we are going to renew it. Is it correct that the renewal cost is whatever the current cost is? Does anyone know the current cost for an adult, child? And we have to renew by the date that the current one expires? Thanks

Re: Annual Pass Questions?

MagicalMoments:

It costs $350 to renew an adult annual pass (as opposed to $392 for a new one); not sure about a child's, but it will be less expensive than buying a new one.

Here's an answer from allears.net about renewing:
I have an Annual Passport and just received a letter in the mail asking if I want to renew it. I do, but won't be back at WDW for several months yet. How does this work, I don't want to activate it before I go.

When you renew your Annual Passport, it starts the day your old one ended. So if your passport expires April 10, 2001 and renew it; the new one begins April 11, 2001. It no longer gets activated when you first use it. Therefore, if you are not returning to WDW for a while, you need to consider if renewing your passport is financially your best option. It might make more sense to you, to wait and just start a brand new one on your next visit.

The 30 day renewal window you used to get to renew an AP/PAP after it expired was discontinued in October, 2000. You must now renew by your expiration date to get the renewal rate. Your renewed pass will begin the day after the old one expires. **There have been some recent reports of people being able to renew an AP/PAP that expired a month or so before being renewed at a WDW Guest Relations window. The pass was backdated to the previous expiration.

I have an Annual Pass and haven't received a renewal letter. What can I do about renewing?

Getting the renewal letter is not required to renew your AP/PAP. You can renew by phone at 407-939-7421 or 407-560-PASS. You can also renew by mail. Call to confirm the current pricing and then mail your check along with your AP/PAP information (type of pass, name on pass, expiration date) to:

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts
Attention: Passholder Renewal Office
P.O. Box 10140
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

AP/PAP's can also be renewed in person at any major park Guest Relations windows or at either of the two Downtown Disney Guest Relations offices. Passes can also be renewed at the Disney Information Center in Ocala (off I-75).

Re: Annual Pass Questions?

I've often said they need a "bi-coastal" AP/PAP! I'm a west-coaster who usually gets to DLR or WDW once a year - but I may alternate, so it may be 2 years between trips to either of them. They should definitely consider doing something like this in the future (perhaps as DLR gets bigger?).

WDW '99x2 (AS Sports & Caribe Royale), '01 (Vistana Resort/Grosvener), '02 (OKW), '03 (Boardwalk - Platinum Plan. The ultimate "princess" trip!), '04 (Caribe Royale - conference, but managed to sneak away for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!)

I agree with that. I am about to purchase a DL annual to save 50% on the Grand Californian. Don't get me wrong, I will get every penny's worth of that AP, and we are only staying 4 nights, it's also alot less $$, only $203.00.

But a BI-COSTAL would be neat@

Re: Annual Pass Questions?

$350 to renew!! That will be hard to pass up! If I remember correctly, that is less that a 6 or 7 day hopper. And we would buy that if we went for a week. Maybe I will have to consider renewing!!!
