Hey. I just found out that Disneyland Paris has VIP fastpasses for people staying in suites at the Disneyland Hotel. With the VIP fastpass, you just get as many fastpasses as you want so there is absolutely no waiting in line - guaranteed! Do they do that anywhere at WDW?

We're staying at the Disneyland, but not in a suite (I believe they start at around $2000 per night?). Even so, I believe we are also entitled to a number of 'extra' fastpasses just because we are staying in the top hotel. Cool!

Re: VIP Fastpass

No, I've never heard of a perk like that. I'm aware that there are some significant "extras" if you're paying VIP prices, or concierge at WDW, but I don't think that they're generally advertised. The only one I've really heard of is the Sunrise Safari for concierge guests at AKL.

That is really cool. Wish WDW did that. It would help someone who was going at a peak time. Just walking onto everything....sigh...

Re: VIP Fastpass

That makes me think about the grumbling over classism that went up in response to Universal Orlando adopting the same sort of policy (go to the head of the line if you're staying at their (rather expensive) hotels). I actually really appreciate the equal opportunity nature of WDW's FastPass system. Then it's just up to each person/group to think strategically! It feels like a nod to Walt's belief in the American Dream, that anybody can realize their dreams, no matter where they start from, through lots of imagination, pluck and hard work!...

I decided to delete my initial response to this as I decided it was getting too political. Would you like a postcardfrom Disneyland Paris??

It was actually a "How come I'm in an exclusive piano bar on the seafront at Nice on the Cote D'Azur where everyone else is drinking super-expensive cocktails and I've just paid about $12 for this coffee?" type of look. I think my wife had just asked if we were having another. The round of drinks (4 people - one of whom (me!) was a non-drinker)was about $60 plus tip.

We are staying at Universal for one night for this reason. We are only paying $149, for a $225 room. Plus it is a beautiful resort and worth the $$. Though I agree with you 100% about the fast past!

Oh, then it was more of a bewitched, bothered and bewildered look!

Each trip to Orlando includes a couple of night at one of the Universal hotels for the front of the line access. I search for the good deals and book our room when I feel the price is appropriate for what we get. Even their cheapest hotel, Royal Pacific, which we paid 150 a night for is worth it in MHO. What I am trying to say is that I do not see it as classism, just a perk for staying onsite similar to Disney's extra magic hour for onsite guests. Just my 2 cents though.

Re: VIP Fastpass

That's a great point about the Early Entry for on-site guests at WDW being a very similar perk. We sure have made the choice to pay extra to stay on-site to get that perk, among others! I guess to me there's just something that feels rather 'in-your-face' about the front of the line access approach. But we've got a money-for-services economy, so it's just the nature of the beast, I suppose, and just a matter of degree. Heck, just affording to go on vacation to WDW or Universal in the first place requires a certain 'class' level (meaning money, not quality of character), right?

Re: VIP Fastpass

I think any class can and does go to WDW. It's just a matter of saving longer.

Re: VIP Fastpass

But let's face it. You do have to have a certain amount of disposable income to be able to afford to go to Disney at least once.
