how much time at the water park

Hi,

I will be in Disney the first week of Septemeber, arriving Sunday leaving on Friday, so it's not a full week.

We want to make the most of our time there, so I was thinking of hitting Typhoon Lagoon when we get there on Sunday. Do we need a full day there, or does 1/2 a day work?

No kids, just two adults (if that matters).

Thanks!

Renee, usually I suggest a good part of the day, but since you are going to be there a short period of time, I would suggest going first thing in the morning, when it opens, and be one of the first people there. They usually open the parking lot about a half an hour early, and will start letting people into the water park a couple minutes early. Then, you should only need about four hours to do everything a couple times and be ready to go.

If you wait until later in the afternoon to go, it will be crowded, and obviously take longer. Have a great trip!

A half day should be fine for two adults. Since you are going in September, the lines should be short. We were there in early June, and the crowds were moderate, and seven of us went together. I believe we got there some time after 10 AM and left between 3:30 and 4:00 PM.:)

Half a day is all you need for the two of you. We spend the morning there and then head out for the afternoon to Epcot and to watch the fireworks and parade. The problem is that we love spending alot of time on the creek just laying back and watching the trees go by.

Thanks for the info!

About the lines in September, is there any way to find out how the crowds have been at that time historically (it's the first week)?

The wait is very short, unless it a very hot day and the locals are there. We never been there on the weekends but I doubt that it will be crowded.

September

Hi ReneeC,

Welcome to DisneyCentral,

I have been going in September for years now. It is not very crowded at any of the parks except MK at weekends which should be avoided at all costs, apart from that everything else is really good.

We like to go to Typhoon Lagoon late (4:30ish) in the afternoon for a couple of reasons. First, the crowds are beginning to leave to eat, and second, we like to just lay in a tube and float around the park after spending all day in a park! This is one of my favorite things to do!

Late Afternoon

We did a whole day at Typhoon Lagoon and a half day at Blizzard Beach this past trip. The half day (got there at 3:00) was great - no wait for any of the slides and no wait for floating in the creek. We have tried Blizzard Beach during mid day and found that the walkways were unbelievably hot and the park was very crowded. Typhoon Lagoon was not as bad, but may try the half day approach there this coming trip. As for River Country - least crowded and not quite up to other standards, but it is suppose to be a replica of the old watering hole and does come across that way.
