My Plan. Any suggestions?
OK, I've finally worked out a plan for our rescheduled-due-to-Jeanne trip. I'm starting to get so excited! I did plan this around Early entry (EE) days since we do get up early. Our kids are 6 & 8.
Tue Nov 30th arrive at MCO at 4:15pm. Getting picked up and going to POFQ, hoping to be checked in and at MK for MVMCP by 7pm at the latest. We just plan to pick up counter service for supper. (Casey's?) I'd love to do CP, but I really don't think the kids will want to get there and go eat. Wed Dec 1st Epcot EE - Try to do what we like in FW. Back to resort to rest/swim if good weather. Ohana's PS. Monorail to MK for spectromagic & Wishes. Thurs Dec 2nd MK EE Back to resort to rest. MGM Fantasmic package @ Hollywood & Vine. Fri Dec 3rd AK EE and stay all day through the parade. I thought about taking the boat from PO to DTD for dinner if we are not too tired. We've eaten at Fulton's and loved it. Any other good ones? Sat Dec 4th MGM EE/ Back to resort or hop to epcot to do World Showcase. Sun Dec 5th Free day. I love Epcot and I think I'd like to go there, but I really think the kids will want to go back to MK. Our flight leaves at 7pm. I haven't made any PS's yet. For our postponed trip, I had Ohana's, H&Vine, and CRT breakfast. I'm going to give the breakfast a shot when I get there, but I'm certainly not expecting anything. Any thoughts on a restauant in Epcot with two kids? We love Japanese, but we do that A LOT at home . . . Thanks!

Re: My Plan. Any suggestions?
My kids love both the San Angel Inn in Mexico and The Biergarden in Germany. They love the fact that you go inside a building and it feels like you are outside at night! We always eat at one of those for lunch. That is th best tip I can give you - eat at the more expensive places at lunch - they are so much cheaper. We always make the latest lunch PS possible and then eat something lighter later in the evening. My kids favorite place in all of WDW is the Sci Fi Dine Inn. We always have fun there! They love siting in the front seat of the car by themselves!

I wondered about Sci Fi. Hadn't heard good reviews of the food, but since when do kids judge a restauant by food? And if they are having a good time, so-so food is fine by me!

I see on your last day you will be going to the parks and your flight leaves at 7:00. When do you leave the parks to get to the airport? I would guess you pack the night before?

Re: My Plan. Any suggestions?
Great Plan! Very similar to the way I'd do it.
DTD restaurants to consider: - Rainforest Cafe is very popular - Wolfgang Puck's is also very good - our favorite is Portobello Yacht Club. It's the best Italian food by far anywhere in WDW - The kids might also enjoy Planet Hollywood. I've heard mixed reviews about food quality and service, but I also hear it's much better since they've closed some of their other locations. Epcot with kids - Marrakesh in Morocco is not nearly as exotic as it sounds. My kids love it, and so do DW and myself. Apparently, the food isn't very authentic, which is why it's not really that much of an adventure, but the theming is definately authentic, as is the entertainment.

Have you thought about LeCellier at Epcot? Very good food. Sci-Fi isn't one of my favorites, but I know a few on Dc that like it. My favorite in MGM for lunch is ABC Commissionary. I love the cuban sandwich and the banana chips. They have decent food and the place always seems to be dead when we go. I hate eating with wall to wall people.

Re: My Plan. Any suggestions?
royorb1 - I plan to be picked up at 4 to have plenty of time to get to the airport & checked in. Yes, we will pack the night before, and store the bags while at the parks.
It's possible that we may be 'parked out' and actually save that day on the hopper. If so we'll probably sleep in and then monorail around to see decorations, eat and spend time at DTD. I'm pretty sure Lecellier is where we ate years ago when we went. I do remember it was a good meal. I like the idea of Marrakesh. We all loved Boma. i.e. 'different' food doesn't bother us. thanks again!

Re: My Plan. Any suggestions?
I still say Sci Fi at MGM is your best bet with kids. The food is not the best ever - and do not go there for dinner. Lunch is salads, hamburgers, sanwiches, etc. At dinner, they try to get fancy, and it just doesn't work with the drive in theme. Kid's meals are served on a glow in the dark frisbee. My kids are 16 & 13 now, and they both have their frisbees still hanging up in their rooms from their first visit. (We have SEVERAL frisbees now, but they won't let me give them away!) True, there are much better "eating" experiences, but no better "atmoshpere" experiences than Sci Fi.
