I have a question for you guys:

My husband took a message for me from Disney dining this morning. We had a 6:00pm PS at MGM the night we were planning on seeing the Osbourne Lights on our Dec trip. The message was that they wanted me to change the time because Fantasmic was supposed to be at 6:00pm that night and the park was closing at 6pm as well.

I just checked the official website and it still says 7pm for Fantasmic and 8pm Park closing that night.

What is your take on this? Won't 6pm be too early to close the parks when we are going to see the lights? I'm not sure what time sundown is at that time of year, but even if it's as early as 5pm, that would only leave us an hour to see the lights. Never mind have any time to eat dinner in the park.

I haven't called back yet. I'm still pondering.....

That's odd. I don't think MGM ever closes at 6pm, unless there's some kind of corporate event going on where they've rented out the park. Which is certainly possible.

I'd call to find out what the deal is.

I have to agree with Matt. I have never heard of MGM closing before 7pm. Definately call them back and see what is what. Please let us know. I am very curious now.

You guys must have been right. It was too late to reach them when I got home (turns out the phone number they left was for MGM dining dept), so I called WDW-DINE. They had no idea of anything going on that night. The CM said they still have park hours down as being open until 8pm in the computer and knew nothing about it closing earlier.

I went ahead and made new reservations and rearranged our schedule, and will follow up on Monday with the MGM dining number to see what's up.
