Get your park tickets put on your room key.

I am new to this board and dont know if this has ever been talked about. When you check in at your hotel you can get park tickets put on your room key. It is a lot less to keep up with. You can also use it charge every thing back to your room so you dont have to keep cash with you in the parks. Also it is plastic so if it gets wet it wont hurt it.

Hey PharroutRacing, welcome to Disney Central! I know you'll love it here! Thats really cool about the park tickets and room keys, i never knew that! Can you use them as hopper passes too, or are the keys just like a one day pass? I knew about the credit card thing, We use it every trip! Its so convenient that they ship it to your room! You dont have to walk around the parks carrying all these bags. Thats another reason why i LOVE staying onsite!:D . Thanks for the info, and agian welcome to Disney Central!
Joe:)

Thx for the welcome jwdj4lfe you can get park hopper & park hopper plus passes put on your key. You do have to buy them at check in though. When you use the plus part at the water parks just take it and keep it in your pocket water wont hurt it. You have it right there for snacks and drinks. I have never lost mine but I think it would be easy for them to reissue them.

It's a great WDW feature. As far back to at least 1997 Disney has been doing this. Very convenient!

I am pretty sure that Disney puts a limit on your card as it is, but you can request any amount you want. So, if you want to limit yourself, that shouldn't be a problem. We usually just check each night what the balance is, and make sure there isn't anything we didn't account for, so we don't catch it when we are checking out and late for our plane.

If you don't set a limit, the limit is $1500, then disney charges your credit card on file, notifies you, and starts you back out at $0 again (unless you don't want them too.) HOWEVER, you can set a limit by telling CM at check in. Whatever limit you set, though, has to be the same for everyone in the room.

We just returned on Saturday from our 10 day trip--what a blast--celebrated our daughter's 5th b-day there with HUGE surprises for all of us!! Anyway, we were staying at ASMovies and our limit was $500 in charge benefits. However, when we were nearing the $500 mark--yep, we did it a few times--I just called Guest Relations and had them set my account to $0. Whatever I had charged on my resort account was sent forward to my credit card company and my account balance was back at $0. This is the same limit we experienced on our last trip in '00 (also at ASMovies). Perhaps the limit is based on which resort you stay at?

Thanks PharroutRacing for this bit of info. I had no idea you could have your tickets linked onto your roomkey. Since I have a way of losing paper, I will definitely use this feature in January.:)

I didn't know about the room key charge. Anything that cuts down on the stuff I need to take to the parks is welcome. Does anyone know if you can charge your food to the key or is it just merchandise?

Motherlode, welcome to DisneyCentral.

When you check into any WDW resort, you have the choice of activating charge privliges to your room keys. If you choose to activate it, you can also get some keys without the privilege (for kids, etc). The room keys are good for charging at any WDW restaurant, store or recreational activity. There are only a couple of restaurants that do not accept it, all of them in Downtown Disney. This includes Planet Hollywood, Bongos and House of Blues. The only other place it is not accepted is at the food carts in the parks.

For us, it is a huge timesaver, plus when you check out, you get an itemized list of charges, so you can check them before you leave. Saves you time, and then there is only one charge from WDW on your credit card statement.

Thanks Mickey. That is exactly what I intend to do. If it's possible I am even more excited for our trip than I was before. What a great convenience.
