Going Week After Xmas Please Tell Me We Will Still Have Fun!!

We are arriving Christmas Day and staying until December 30 - last minute surpirse trip for my children ages 9, 16 and 19. Now I hear how AWFUL the crowds are, long lines, etc!! I am now stressing out that we will have a terrible time. This is the first trip for my children (who are so so excited!!), second trip for my hubby and I. PLEASE someone tell me it will be a wonderful time even though it will be busy! Someone tell me they went that week themselves and still had an awesome time and still got on rides It's the only good week for us to go. My hubby says to quit stressing it will be wondeful no matter what - but I am so worried because everyone seems to say never go that week between Christmas and New Years. Anyone have any tips for us? I managed to get a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's for all of us! I just need some reassurance from all of you who seem to know so much - if you could please - because I know so little - and I wanted so much for this trip to be awesome!!

Your DH is right quit stressing out. It will be very busy that week and the lines will be long but don't worry. You got your Chef Mickey time so you are good to go. Just go with the flow. At least you won't be dying in the heat and the xmas decorations will make the trip so much more fun. Just remember you're at WDW and think of all of us that won't be there but wishes we were. Jus make you reservations to eat the day before if you are staying on site. This way you get ahead of the crowd that off site. Have a wonderful trip.

The first time we visited Disney we were there at the peak of the summer crowds. It was busy, but it was DISNEY!! You will have a GREAT TIME! Put together a good touring plan, try to stick to it, and enjoy. You won't regret it.

Don't stress, use Fast Pass as often as you can. Make your PS' that way you are set for the meals you don't want to miss. Make a list of everyone's "must dos/sees". Take advantage of EMH and hit the popular attractions first.

You will be ok. WDW is so full of magic and fun that once you are there, the stress will be lifted.

The key to enjoying any Disney trip is to recognize that you can't possibly do everything and that it's not going anywhere, so you'll be back someday.

As long as everyone's together in line, then you'll have fun. Christmas at Disney!!

Also, I'm still amazed at how many people don't use Fast Pass effectively. If used correctly, you should only end up in one or two long lines/day, even if it's VERY crowded.

Lastly, even though you're on vacation, get up early! It'll be worth it.

Now breathe.....breathe.....breathe.....yes..it will be busy....yes...lines will be long...yes.....the castle will casue you to have to catch your breath...yes..the first time you see a disney chacacter in person you will get goosebumps...yes...the first time your kids ride space mountain they will not be able to stop talking about how cool it is...yes...fastpasses work beautifully...yes... do NOT go to the park that has extra magic that day......and yes... you will have a lovely time!

Welcome to Disney Central. And relax. You are in good hands. Of course you will have a good time, because you've had the good sense to do some planning. The key to a great time at WDW is planning. Going at a busy time means you must prioritize. Get a good guide book (Unofficial Guide is best, but Passporter or the Official Guide will not take so long to read). Decide what you can forgo. For instance, at your kids ages you can pretty well give Mickey's Toon Town a miss. Write a list of your "must-dos", as well as a list of things that don't interest you. Are you staying on site? This is also a consideration. Just keep asking questions here. Everyone will be glad to give you advice. (Basically, we live to do that).

You guys are wonderful!!! Yes we are staying at the Port Orleans Resort Riverside - I already booked with Quicksilver (this site's idea) - making a grocery store stop on the way, what a wonderful idea!!- and I am going out to get the unofficial guide as we speak - we already made a list of must sees - the older kids will kind of go out on their own - so hubby and I and my 9 year old daughter will go on our own - will try to do a park a day I think - trying to figure out the fast pass system - ...... any other ideas you have - thanks so much for listening -getting more excited just listening to you all - and we will have fun no matter what - and I failed to mention - we are coming from MINNESOTA - so just getting out of the cold will be worth it!!!

The unofficial guide will be such a big help. You are going to have a great time. We went for the first time in July during a very busy time. We got to the parks when they opened. This is a must. We got so much done during the first 1 or 2. Then use fastpass (explained well in the book) and enjoy the time you are waiting to check out shops, eat, or go on less popular rides.

here you go www.allearsnet.com they have EVERYTHING when you start to plan, slide shows of the resorts, pictures of the resturants even menus from all over the world to help you decided where to make your priority seating!!!!!! its great...prettymuch anything you want to see...its there
