Birthday in Disney

Has any one celebrated your birthday in WDW? If so, tell me about it because my great friend wants to celebrate my birthday here and I am excited if it can really happen!!!

Re: Birthday in Disney

Well, I don't know if I can be of much help but..

I have Celebrated my B-day at Disneyland, and it was the best trip i've ever had! If it's your birthday you can get a sticker that says Happy Birthday...etc. Then they put your name on it. Then every Castmember says happybirthday to you by name! And where ever you eat they give you free food. (not like your meal is free, but a few places gave me cookies, and one place gave me an icecream sunday) It makes the whole expereince more magical when it's your birthday. I'm sure they do the Same thing in WDW, hope this helps!

Re: Birthday in Disney

I just had my birthday at WDW this year! It was spectacular! The coolest thing to do is to go to guest services at each park as soon as you arrive... they will give you an "It's My Birthday" badge to wear, and when the CMs see you (and a lot of guests too), they will wish you a happy birthday! There are even some freebies that will be offered to you! I got a birthday churro in Mexico, which was delicious! Also, some CMs will see your badge and tell you that you have a phone call... when they hand you the phone (a REAL phone!), Goofy is on the line wishing you a great birthday! Be sure to go to each park for the badge... Animal Kingdom and Epcot have their own badges, and MGM and MK have the same one. They make great souvenirs!
Also, when you make PSs for your birthday celebration, make sure you tell the reservation CM about the occasion, and they will make note of it. And remind the CMs at the restaurant... you may be treated with a terrific table and a candle in your dessert, which would be served with a big birthday song!
For my birthday, we had a great indoor table at Rose & Crown, then they moved us to choice outdoor spot for Illuminations... we had front-row seats without the wait! Now THAT'S a birthday!

Re: Birthday in Disney

Sadly my birthday is July 5 and Pete's is August 27, and we refuse to brave Disney in the summertime.

But a cute story: When we were there in Sept. we were watching Wishes. In front of us was a little girl on her daddy's shoulders. He said to the little girl, "Is this the best birthday surprise ever?" She said "Yes!" Daddy turned to mommy standing next to him and said quietly, "We're never going to be able to top this surprise next birthday."

It just made me smile that this sweet little 6-year-old had her birthday surprise be a trip to WDW. You should have seen her little face looking at those fireworks

Re: Birthday in Disney

I went there for my bday a few times. Everyone's said it all already - cute little bday button, phone call from Goofy, all that good stuff. A CM at Haunted Mansion even took me to the front of the line. The best part of the whole thing is how all the CM's make a big deal about it when they see your bday button.

Hope you get to go Baloo... I know you'd have a great time. :)

Re: Birthday in Disney

Every year my DD celebrates her birthday at WDW....not on her actual birthday, but a tradition for us. The first year we did it, the WDW trip was her birthday present that I gave to her in March, but we didn't go until October. We picked a day to have a celebration dinner. We had it at Hollywood and vine when they still had the characters. They really made my DD's day there. They gave her balloons and a birthday card that all the characters signed. Pluto (her favorite character at the time) sat on DD's lap and tried to eat her birthday cupcake that all the characters brought to her...I have some great shots and no way to post them....ugh! Last year we went a week before her birthday and had a birthday dinner at O'hanna. I didn't tell her where her celebration dinner was going to be and surprised her. This time she got the birthday song sung to her by a really big hawiian guy...very cool. It was all the more special for sharing the meal with our Dc friend llama and her DH. This year I am not telling her again, but am going to have it at Crystal Palace for breakfast with her favorite characters. Hopefully Pooh will make a fuss over her...he's her favorite. I highly reccomend booking a character meal for your celebration. Age has nothing to do with the magic of a character making a fuss over your big day. Do the birthday button so all the CM know it's your day too. They make the biggest fuss out of birthday boys and girls of all ages. It'll be fun.

Question:

My DS's son's birthday is Jan 10 ~ the first day of our trip. We will not be visiting MK till the next day ~ is it ok to get a birthday button for him?

Re: Birthday in Disney

The last time I was at WDW for my birthday, it was actually my DS and I who were both celebrating. We stayed at Contemorary (Tower-12th Floor). When I made the reservation I had mentioned we would be there for both of our birthdays. When we arrived in our room there was balloons, a chocolate bithday cake with 'Happy Birthday Mom & Alex" written in icing, plates, cloth napkins, real silverware all set up on a table with a cloth tablecloth. It was the happiest I think I ever was at WDW!! I cried!! I called my mom thinking she had set it up, but she said she hadn't. I called my husband and he said it wasn't him either. It could only have been Disney!! I wrote a very nice thank you note and sent it to the Contemporary after I got home. I will never, ever forget that moment I walked into the room!! Pure joy!

sugar .. maybe we could celebrate it the next time we go ..even though we cant go during school, specially next sept ..since I will be in school too (I hope)
But I guess there is no reason we couldnt "say we are celebrating your birthday " if that would work for you?
