Christmas parade taping

Hello all,
We are going Thanksgiving day and will be coming home on Dec. 4th. I just read on another web site that they tape the Christmas day parade early in Dec. Last year it was Dec. 4th or 5th. Does anyone know when or what day they tape on. I have plans to attend the MK before our flight goes out that last day. In the past during slow times, we have had the characters all to ourselves before our flights home. If we have to fight the taping of the big parade it will kill my little guy. He thinks the charaters are movie stars and loves when they talk with him. Thanks for your help.

Do they tape the parade for broadcasting on a network?

What I mean is, can I catch that joker on TV??!? :c)

Yes ABC. Regis and Kellie host... I can't believe how many people don't know about this parade... but I didn't either till last year thanks to DC!! However, we have always been opening presents and enjoying Christmas Morning... NOT WATCHING TV... BUT we TAPE IT NOW!!!

Last year I think they taped the Magic Kingdom portion on a Saturday.
I'm not sure of the date.
It was great because everyone was watching the parade and the park was much less crowed.
It's the same parade as MVMCP but shot during the day.

wow, i did not know that! that's amazing! i've watched the parade for many years and for some reason, thought it was just something special that they did. before DC, i have no idea about MVMCP. now that i know it's the same parade, i will enjoy the parade a little more this year.

I was at WDW during the taping last year. The line to get in the park was outrageous! We talked to some of the people to decide whether it was worth waiting to possibly be on TV. We were told that the majority of the people they actually tape to show on TV are CMs and their families. They were actually filming quite a bit of it very early the morning we were there. We were supposed to be taking the Steam train backstage tour (which they didn't bother to notify us had been canceled because of the parade filming!) so we were there at about 7:15 am. You could hear the music and people cheering inside, which I assume were the CMs, because the line outside waiting to get in hadn't started moving yet! We decided that it wasn't worth waiting so we left.

Interesting... we are going to be there... but MK is not in the plans for that day... Maybe best to keep it that way???

Oh my!!! we will be there for this!!!!!!! How great is that!! We were even planning on being at MK that day. Wow... I would love to see DD & DS be on TV. That would be so amazing.

I would avoid it at all costs MickeyRon! Unless you NEED to be on tv! LOL!
I wouldn't go near that crowd :c)

We really enjoy watching the parade on TV, hope it is RowdyRaider as Goofy. We will try to go in Dec. in '05. Looks like it is a very magical time to be at WDW!!
