WDW New Rides/Attractions
When are the projected opening dates of the new ride at AK and EPCOT?
We are thinking of planning a trip the middle of May 2005 and wasn't quite sure if these rides/attractions would be open yet. I thought maybe they would since it's DL's 50th and I thought that started May 5, 2005. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!

Re: WDW New Rides/Attractions
I have heard as early as March 2005 for Soarin at Epcot. Expedition Evrest over at AK will be a little while longer.
Forgot to mention... The new stunt show at MGM should be open very soon. Disney is keeping ultra quiet about this one. Maybe it is just that the "Disney Media" isn't as interested in a simple stunt show. I am excited!!!

Disneeluvr, you will love the middle of May. The Flower Festival will have just begun and the crowds are not too bad at all.
Also, don't forget about Lilo & Stitch and it is Disneyland's 50th anniversary. Supposedly all the parks are celebrating too.

Re: WDW New Rides/Attractions
I don't know if this counts as a new ride, but I heard from a good friend of mine that Pirates is going to be refurbished coming up soon.
For some reason they want to incorporate some Jack Sparrow guy into it....pretty weird huh?? Which reminds me I need to see that movie.... heh next thing you know Haunted mansion will be refurbished to have Eddie Murphey in it!

Re: WDW New Rides/Attractions
Disneywife--
We have seriously considered going to DL for the 50th celebration. We live in MO so we would have to fly, rent a car (because we would have to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain too to ride the rollercoasters) and buy DL tickets, Six Flags tickets, etc. We still have about 4 days a piece for three of us left on park hoppers from WDW and we could drive the 1200 miles for around $250 and stay on property at WDW for less than going to DL. We have been to DL in 1999 and of course, it was before CA opened so there really would be a lot more for us to do/see there in Anaheim. Believe me, we are SERIOUSLY considering the DL thing for the 50th. DD and DH do not like to fly but they would do it for this trip. I don't think that I could handle driving 1800 + miles to California. Never know though. Thanks for everyone's input so far.

The Soarin Over California ride in DL (where you ride in a hangglider type thing and watch a movie like you're really flying over CA) is being built in The Land at WDW, where Food Rocks used to be.
