Did anybody go to WDW this Columbus Day Weekend? How were the crowds? We want to go in early October next year but I do not know if we should avoid Columbus Day Weekend??

We were there and it was very crowded. There were 65 minute waits for Space Mtn, and 95 minute waits for Splash mountain. I thought that the crowds would let up the following week, but it did not- not even the day that it poured the whole day! I twas a lot of fun, however, to go to the Halloween party, but I would use fastpass as much as possible on other days in the parks. I don't know what effect the hurricanes had, though. I was told that everyone canceled their September vacations and rescheduled them to October. Every park was packed, and Epcot had the food and wine festival going on also!

We were there the week before, and the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend and it was indeed crowded. I'd avoid it if I were you -- as long as it doesn't disturb your plans too much.

We've been there the last two times during Columbus weekend. This year seemed much worse, and this is most definitely due to people postponing their trips due to the hurricanes. For next year, the odds ares slim Fla would have that many hurricanes in a row, so it should be just fine.
