I'll be going to EPCOT for one day in very early February or very late January.
Do you "master planners" have any suggestions for some Must Do's or Can't Misses, with a possible itenerary? I don't even know where to start, or what I should see first. Which day is the best day to go? Is there counter service that I shouldn't live without? I'll be travelling with a DH, DS10, DD8, and a 10 month old baby. I'm ok with taking it slow. Your help would be much appreciated. I already know to look for the candymaker!

Re: game plan for EPCOT
The only EMH day for Epcot is Wednesday, so since that is the off-season I would avoid it that day. I would start with Mission: Space and Test-Track. Then from there you can head wherever you would like. My only other tip is to start the World Showcase in Mexico. I think The Pub in England is a great counter service, as well as the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco.

Re: game plan for EPCOT
I don't think there is anything at Epcot that is bad. If the Wonders of Life Pavillion is open make that a must see. Also, if the ride in Norway has a long line(over 25 minutes) skip it and come back. It tends to be a very lame ride where lines pile up. If you REALLY want to do it, then run there when you first start the WS, then go back and start at the beggining.

Re: game plan for EPCOT
Erin,
I always enjoy going to EPCOT. When you get in the lands make sure to stop at the kidcot stations for the kids to make their masks and get their stamps from every country. We did this for the 1st time in March and we loved it. I really feel like it helped us to see a lot of the more of the countries than just the restaurants. It was fun and interesting for my DH and myself as well as my DD. One ting that was cool in China, not only did they give her a stamp they wrote her name in Chinese and also asked when she was born and gave her a stamp for the year of the tiger. It was a really cool and FREE souvenir. You gotta try Mission Space ! It's amazing ! Also, if you can get there before or right as they open the gates they have a Character Caravan that stops just in front of the dancing fountains and you can do a meet and greet if you want. Also, go in the coke thing . I can't remember what it's called something like the ice station or something . Anyway, it's a nice place to stop and cool off, and you can taste coke samples from around the world. (Also, free) Anyway, sorry I got carried away. I 'll let you know if I think of anything else. Have Fun !

Re: game plan for EPCOT
I've heard Friday's are bad as well, due to school field trips.
Last time DW & I went it was on a Monday. We got there 20 minutes before posted opening and got right in with no lines on any of the rides.

Re: game plan for EPCOT
Don't miss Mission Space, Test Track, Rose & Crown Pub (in England) or Spaceship Earth (if you've never done it before). Then go and look at the Leave a Legacy Tiles to see ME!
Matt will argue with me but IMHO Body Wars is very skippable. Too jerky ![]()

Re: game plan for EPCOT
I've never been to EPCOT before. None of us have. We are EPCOT virgins. It's just recently come to my attention from Tinkerbells trip report that there is quite a bit going on there. I always thought it would be "boring" for my children. It doesn't look like that's going to be the case!!!! I am really looking forward to M:S, Test Track, etc.
I think I need a map because people are referring to different areas...I need to know where to go first, second, etc. I'll be sure to look for you at Leave a Legacy, Jenny :P

Re: game plan for EPCOT
I will always recommend buying a copy of "The Unofficial Guide to WDW." It is a well-spring of info. And it details each of the parks--rates attractions, has maps, touring plans. Even if you don't use the touring plans, it's still an invaluable aid in planning a day at the parks.

Re: game plan for EPCOT
One thing to remember is that the world showcase does not open until 11 AM. I suggest getting to the park at opening, and running to Test Track. The line for Mission:Space is usually non-existent in the afternoon, but that is not true for Test Track. As soon as the World Showcase opens up, head there. If you want to see characters, there is a big plaza, usually with 10 characters or so hanging around. Right at the entrance to the world showcase.
I love the counter service in Morocco (Tangierine Cafe), and the Fish & Chips (Harry Ramsden) is good. Don't miss the Funnel Cakes in America, fantastically messy! Do not miss rides/attractions: Test Track, Mission:Space, Honey I Shrunk..., Living with the Land, Impression de France, American Adventure and possibly Maelstrom and Universe of Energy. Oh, and don't miss Illuminations and the Boulangerie Pattisserie in France for a snack.

Re: game plan for EPCOT
I definitely say that while you're in WShowcase, stop by the Mitsukoshi store. It has really awesome stuff. Once, I bought dried crabs. They were kinda sweet, and real crunchy, though. Especially their pinchers... Pick up some Pocky! Yummmmm!
Also, there's a restaurant up on the hill, and they make good curry and rice. another can't miss is the Candy-Maker, Miyuki! ^_^
