COP and the Disney website...

According to the operational schedules posted on Disney website, there is no mention anymore of COP being seasonal, it does however list Time Keeper as a "seasonal" attraction. Is this good news, incorrect news, or say it not so, is the end near?? Below is what is on the web site:
Den

Magic Kingdom® Park
The Timekeeper - open seasonally

"it's a small world" will not be operating May 2, 2004 until Spring 2005, however we recommend Peter Pan's Flight as an alternative during this time.

Ariel's Grotto will not be operating September 13 - November 18, 2004 however we recommend Toontown Hall of Fame Tent as an alternative during this time.

Cinderella's Carousel will not be operating November 16 - 18, 2004 however we recommend the Mad Tea Party as an alternative during this time.

Country Bear Jamboree will not be operating November 15 - 20, 2004 however we recommend The Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management as an alternative during this time.

Re: COP and the Disney website...

I noticed the same thing and am thinking they are keeping that open while it's a small world is down or they finally realized this is an attraction that is loved by many, many people. My DD fell in love with this attraction last trip and would be devasted to find in not operating when we go in January. I am hoping it's open.

It's one of our favorites also. I listened to Jean Shepherd growing up.

They were keeping it open until Stitch came on line, that's the story I've heard.

Well, I hope they've decided to just keep it open, don't you?
I love CoP. I liked the original version better, but this one is good, too.

Re: COP and the Disney website...

That would be great if they decided to keep it open. We still have not seen it because it has always been closed when we go. Not qite sure what they mean by season because it was closed at the end of May 2002 when it was pretty crowded. Hopefully we will get to see it on our next trip since I have heard so many great things about it!

Re: COP and the Disney website...

Sorry Rich1967,
I should have at least wrote the Full name in the thread...

BTW - I am a full defender of this attraction, Just let them try to shut this down!
There are fewer and fewer attractions that Walt had complete input on. If you do get to go on this, they made a nice video while awaiting in line to go in - showing Walt walking around the original production site - sitting in Uncle Orvilles tub. Remember this was built for the 64 Worlds Fair, then sent to Disneyland, then WDW
It would be a true shame to close this up. WAKE UP PEOPLE AT DISNEY!

Not to rain on anyone's parade. but if you look up the attraction in Magic Kingdom attractions section, it says:

Enjoy an involving stage show in this famed revolving theater. Take a journey with an American family as it experiences technological changes throughout the twentieth century. Humorous family moments reveal how life has gotten easier and more fun. (open seasonally)

Re: COP and the Disney website...

It's a big theatre like thing, and you sit down. The seats revolve around the stage. You see one section at a time. It starts at the turn of the century and goes through until present time. It's audio animatronics. The set is unbelievable. Describing it doesn't do it justice. You just have to see it.
