So my boyfriend and I just got back last night from our FIRST WDW Trip. It was amazing. I want to MOVE in!!!
Saturday November 13: This was our "Flight Day". 6 hours on a plane Not the best day but it was exciting!! We arrived to Florida at 1am. Just as we got off the plane and arrived at Baggage Claim-so did Quicksilver. Right on time. He (I'm sorry I cant remember his name) helped us with our bags and we were off. I think we might have been the first on our flight to leave the airport. The ride was great. I loved how special it made me feel to have a car waiting for us. I only wish that they were on standby for me the entire trip (Hey-I can dream!) We arrive at the Port Oreleans-Riverside and get a room in the Magnolia Bend (not what we had requested but its 1am and all I want is a bed) We were in room 8282. The room was nice. IT ALSO CAME WITH REFRIGERATOR FOR FREE!!! I am not sure if this is the new thing but we had one in our room at no charge. It was great!!!!Sunday November 14: Our day at MK. It pretty much reminded me of Disneyland but a lot more spread out. The lines were very good. Most of them were 10-20 minutes. The only long line we waiting in was Big Thunder (45 minutes). The line grew shorter as we got closer to the front. What I loved about MK: ** Buzz Lightyear Ride. That was my favorite one. I could have rode that ride over and over and over. I cant wait until DL gets it done. ** Splash Mountain-it seemed to have a REAL story. It was fun. I bought the picture as a souvenier. **Our view of the fireworks-we sat on the top floor of the train station and were right in the middle. It was the best view I have ever had of them. I wonder why I never tried this at DL. I thought the song was a little cheesy but the fireworks were great as always. **Space Mountian- I had no idea what to expect and it was great! When I ride it at DL (back in the good days when it was open) I had it memorized. This one threw me off and it made the ride so much better. **Mickey's Philharmagic: I didnt think I would like it but it was really cool. Definelty one of my favorites. **PeopleMover(i dont know what this is really called)-It reminded me of when I was a kid at DL. It brought back great memories. What I did not like so much: **The Stitch Ride: Not much went on. Something about it didnt interest me. I am a big fan of stitch but was not impressed by this ride. Sorry Monday November 15: AK-My favorite park on the trip. It was amazing to see all those animals so up close. I've heard a lot of people say this park is boring but nothing can compare to seeing all those animals so up close. What I loved about AK: **I loved the Kilimanjari Safari Ride. That was my favorite throught this whole trip. We rode it twice. We got lots of good pictures on that one. **The costume dinosaurs. I have a picture of the "girl dinosaur" (sorry cant remember the name) eating my head. It is one of the best pictures I have and kept me craking up the whole time. What I did not like so much: **Kali River Rapids-It seemed so short. We went up, fell down, got soaked and it was over. I also have to mention that the DINOSAUR ride scared the LIFE out of me. I literally did not stop screaming the whole time. I am very very afraid of dinosaurs anded up sitting on the edge seat on the right. I closed my eyes the whole time. Thank goodness I did not see the T-Rex right next to me!!Tuesday November 16: MGM (forgive me) I hated it. I had the least fun this day. The day dragged because it seemed that there was not much to do. We rode Tower of Terror and the Aerosmith Rollercoaster and that was fun. The behind the scenes tour ride seemed like a ripoff of the Universal Studios one. It was also boring. I didnt like this park much. I think Fantasmic is the only thing that kept me there. The park was boring but Fantasmic was great. That show really surprised me. Very different than the one we have down here. I loved it. Wednesday November 17: Epcot. So I spent the entire morning wondering if I would ride Mission Space. I debated it over and over in my head (I get very sick on spinning rides) but I decided that this was somthing I had to do. So I rode it. I got sick. Luckily it was just a little woozy and I wasnt puking my guts out or anything. I dont think I could ever ride it again. I followed directions and faced forward with my head back. It still made me sick. My boyfriend loved it. He thought it was amazing. I didnt like it so much. We spent the first half of the day in "Future World" and since I am not really interested in Science, I was getting bored. Until we reached Canada. I was amazed by "World Showcase". That was amazing. That was one of my favorite things there. We spent hours there shopping and eating lots of good desserts. I even had a glass of champagne for the first time. I loooooved it. Thursday November 18: Time to go home Quicksilver was right on time to pick us up. On our ride to the airport I was contemplating whether I could actually move to Orlando. It is really beautiful. So many trees and lakes. I live in Santa Ana, Ca (neighbor to Anaheim) and we are filled with homes, gas stations and stores. I do have to say that it was A LOT OF WALKING and I was extremely tired by the last day so a part of me is glad to be home. But I cant wait to plan my next trip. We didnt get a chance to go to Pleasure Island but we did see most of Downtown Disney. I had a lot of fun. We came back with 315 pictures to share with all of our family and I feel extremely lucky to have been able to visit WDW as I am the first in my family to visit there. Its been only 24 hours since I've been back and I am ready to plan the next trip. The weather was great, the people were great and the experience was amazing. I am very jealous of all of you who are getting ready to leave and wish I could turn back time to just a week ago.

I'm glad you enjoyed your first trip to WDW. I find is especially interesting to hear trip reports from Disneylanders making their first trip to WDW, and vice versa; with their impressions of the park from their experience of having been to one or the other many times before!
Anyway, thanks for sharing your trip report with us! Hope you'll be able to come again to WDW sometime soon! ![]() |

Welcome back, Cilia ~ sounds like you had a great trip. I'm feeling the same way about Mission Space. I'm a big coaster freak, but getting sick on a ride (as so many do) is just not my thing. I guess I'll have to wait till I get there.

I'm glad you had a good time on your first trip!!!!!! I'm sorry that Mission: Space made you dizzy!!! I have never been on it, but I intend to when we go this christmas...i dont get sick on roller coasters or anything....im just not a big fan of small spaces...do you think i'll be okay? I wish you had a better time at MGM...for some reason it's one of my favorite parks! But im one of the few people who would say that! Welcome back!

Re: Trip Report-First Time at WDW
Glad to hear you had a good trip. I was especially interested in the Mission Space comment on keeping your head back. I heard the same thing about keeping your head back and looking straight ahead. I do get sick on rides easily and every morning take dramamine or bonine and it works wonders for the entire day. I'm still not convinced about Mission Space after your comment. I would hate for the rest of my day to be ruined if it made me sick. Maybe I'll wait until the last ride of the day so I can go back to the hotel and sleep it off.
We are in the final week and countdown until we leave next Saturday (11/27). Thanks for sharing. I'll try to send a report when I get back.

Great trip report! You did an excellent job! I didn't like MGM that much when I went either. I went without children, and I think I might of enjoyed it more if they were with me. It seemed more geared to little kids or parents with little kids. (IMHO)

CillaWilla I'm glad you had a great time. I hope I can get my Trip Report out there when we get back.
I agree with you about AK. It's my favorite too. If we didn't have kids we probably wouldn't go to MGM. I find it boring too. However, my kids love Playhouse Disney so it's a must see. Can't wait to leave!!!

Thanks for sharing your trip report. How did the Atlanta airport go?
Funny, I love MGM and Epcot (the countries especially) is my least favorite. That's why there is something for everyone!

Re: Trip Report-First Time at WDW
Welcome home to DC cillia! WE missed you! I was so excited to see your report when I signed on today. I love first timer reports the best. I am so glad you were bitten by the WDW bug and loved it. Sorry about the MS sickness...I didn't like it either. I was sorry to hear you didn't like MGM, but everyone gets something different out of their WDW experiences. That's my favorite park and AK is my least favorite...funny how two poeple get two totally different views on something. That is the best part about going to WDW. There is truely something for everyone to enjoy no matter what you like. Again welcome home and thanks for sharing your trip with us. I look forward to watching you plan another trip.

I find your not liking Disney-MGM hard to relate to myself, since I am a big film buff, among other things! Sorry you didn't like Disney-MGM, but I hope you enjoyed your trip as a whole, counting everything you did there! ![]() |
