Hi,

I had to post something if not I will go mad! We are going to WDW on December 9th and I haven't told my 3 Ds's yet. We are going to tell them the day before, they will go mad. My little Ds will be 6 while we are on holiday.

Can you please help me? I come from a VERY cold England (at the moment) I am now wondering what clothes to pack, how hot is it in Florida during the day? Do the nights get cold we are going 9-23rd December.

I am sooooo excited we have also got tickets for MVMCP on December 17th which I believe is now sold out. I can't wait to go.

As for what to pack you need a little of everything. We go about this time every year. Two years ago it was cold. Last year was warm. It does get cool at night but you can usually manage w/ a sweatshirt. If your used to the cold it will feel warm to you but you see the Floridians bundled up in 50 degree weather.
I'm sure it's hard to know since you have limited packing space.
You can always buy when you get there!

Packing clothes to go to Florida is hard, lol. Right now its about 80. It was in the mid 70s a day or two ago. The Weather Channel is saying it may be as hot as 85 this week!!!!!!! So pack for some warm days (you can do laundry if you run out... or buy more!!) but you just never know what its going to be like. Just think of it as having lots of wardrobe options ;) We are going to WDW & MVMCP in less then 2 weeks and I have 2 outfits for my kids for each day, one set for cold wether (which to us is anything under 74, lol) and some incase its as warm as the 80s.(we have LOTS of room for packing since we just drive an hour and some to get there). I think we went the weekend before Thanksgiving last year and it was quite warm... we went swimming!

Hi sue! So nice to see you. Packing for WDW can be a bit of a chore. The weather varies quite a bit from morning to night on any given day. I believe the local saying is "if you don't like the wether in florida, wait a few minutes and it will change". With that being said, it's best to be prepared for anything. Pack a light and cool weather owfit for each day. Wear owfits that you can wear in layers so you are able to take someting off if you get hot and put it back on as night comes and the weather turns cooler. Since you are going to be there for an extended stay, pack yourself some travel size clothes detergent. You can do a load of wash here and there at your resort so you won't have to pack as much. Pack at least two pairs of walking shoes for everyone and at least one coat. Sweatshirts are highly reccomended too. I never wore anything heavier than a sweatshirt for my last trip at the end of January last year. Don't forget to bring any other-the-counter drugs your family uses. Even if you don't have a cold or are not sick, you never know what will happen. It's better to be preapred than not. You are going to have such a great trip. I can't wait to hear how the surprise goes. I hope you will come back and give us all a trip report!

Since your DS will be turning 6 while your at WDW, be sure and get him a birthday button :) when the Cast Members know someone has a birthday they get a bit of extra attention !!
Everyone is right ..you can't trust the weather in the southern United States! Pack for any possibility :)

We usually go in December and you can never tell what the weather is going to be like. One year it was in the high 80's and we couldn't wait to get to the pool. Other years we were frozen to the bone, hats, gloves, scarves and heavy jackets. I agree with Dana and would try to pack a variety and some detergent. We usually take a couple pair of shorts and full pants along with t-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets. Good Luck with packing. Please do let us know how the surprise reveal and trip goes.

We're going on the 8th and haven't told our daughter either. I am sure I will overpack but will be prepared for any weather.

Today in town my daughter wore shorts. 3 days ago she needed a jacket.
