Re: Christmas Parade Taping

I think RowdyRaider said it was the first weekend in December: Dec 3, 4 & 5.

Re: Christmas Parade Taping

I *think* that it is the 3rd or 4th of December. My MIL works for Sears Travel (Canada) and she was asked if she knew anyone that was going to be in Disney during the parade who cold hold a Sears Banner-well low-and-behold we will be there, so we might get the privilage of being on TV!

Ummm.. Disney doesn't give ANYTHING away. Disney certainly isn't going to allow SEARS to advertise on their dime.

If there isn't a CM who makes you put the banner away (they will), you and your family will end up on the cutting room floor. This is why they tape it over 2 or 3 days and why it's not broadcast live.

If you want to be on TV, leave the banner at home.

Re: Christmas Parade Taping

I'm not sure what's going on then. My MIL received a notice from Sears Canada to see if there were any family members going to WDW that would do this for Sears. I doubt that they would encourage a family to do something that would be that frowned upon

As many here would acknowledge, I've been wrong before. So if I'm wrong this time, it certainly wouldn't be the first.

Honestly, it seems like an odd request, unless of course Sears is ALREADY sponsoring the parade (which is entirely possible) and they're trying to get more bang for their buck.

Re: Christmas Parade Taping

I'll be sure to post when I find out the "real" details. I'd be so very embarassed if we showed up with a banner only to be told that it wasn't permitted.

Re: Christmas Parade Taping

I can't confirm this, but I thought for sure I had read that it was definitely being taped on the fourth... I have also heard that the crowds are BIG!

Re: Christmas Parade Taping

Can anyone tell me what time we will be admitted MK with a MVMCP ticket? We want to get in as early as possible, is there a set rule? The ticket says 7 PM, but I have read that you can get in earlier.

Re: Christmas Parade Taping

I believe taping is always the first weekend in Dec.

Last year we got in about 6pm - BUT there was no snow on main street, we went towards tomorrowland and they were holding people up near the new stitch ride, so we just got in line for photos.

We got into the Halloween party at 6:30.

Re: Christmas Parade Taping

I bet if you hold any type of signage, that would garantee a definate position on the cutting room floor - IMHO

Re: Christmas Parade Taping

I'm pretty sure Rowdy Raider says it was on the 4th. I'll miss it. It happens during the morning hours usually (at least it has for the last 2 years) so even if you come early for the MVMCP you will most likely miss the taping.
I think we arrived last year around 10 am and they were taping it then. Of course they may have to do several takes.
