Jungle Cruise Refurbishment

I've heard rumors (on the movie board here) of a refurbishment of the Jungle Cruise ride -- I'm tempted to think that what with Animal Kingdom and the real animals there, any refurbishment of the MK ride to make it more "realistic" couldn't compare with anything in the AK -- so perhaps if they refurbish it, it could be (a la the way Tomorrowland focused more on fun science-fictional elements, since Epcot was really handling the genuine predictions about the real-world future) more of a fantasy or cartoon-related version of the Jungle Cruise -- there are various characters (Lion King, Tarzan) who would fit well in such a re-imagining. Perhaps also like The Tiki Room Under New Management?

Thoughts?

I haven't heard about a re-furb, but I kind of like it the way it is. I think it's funny!as well as interesting, not scary for the kids-and I stay dry

I think that would be great. I love the new Tiki room. Your right they should bring in Baloo, Whats that Ape's name? They should Bring in Tarzan and Jane. When are the closing? We are going in Feb. with some others who have never been.

Re: Jungle Cruise Refurbishment

I think that that is a good idea, but something inside me keeps saying no, keep the originals the same as they were??? Another inner battle, I like the way they tied in the Indy attraction and the Jungle cruise in DL.
Also the tree house in DL is Tarzan themed, and I think it brought the tree house "back to life" - IMO

Re: Jungle Cruise Refurbishment

I love the Jungle Cruise...and I would support any change no matter how different. The disney characters idea is a good one, but I think the jokes would be gone...and the cruise would just be a story book kinda thing...I dunno. Not sure! Please, anyone, keep us informed!!! Wait, I am going next month...is it closed now? Oh no!

Re: Jungle Cruise Refurbishment

Refurbishing doesn't always mean change, just heavy maintainance to restore everything to original condition. I'd like to think that nothing will be changed. Besides, change in Orlando would mean change in the original in Anaheim as well, and they wouldn't do that, would they?

I don't know about this refurb. I haven't heard anything about this before now, and usually hear these rumors from sources other than DC.

Re: Jungle Cruise Refurbishment

I don't know if it's true or not, but it would be cool to have the jungle book characters represented somewhere at MK.

Re: Jungle Cruise Refurbishment

well I doubt any of this will happen in the near future as the jungle cruise was closed for a rehab in aug or sept. the rehab was about a month long there were a few minor changes and they brought back the guns although they make a electronic noise not the same as the old cap style guns.
