Icon5 Park ticket expiration question

I read somewhere that un-used park tickets don't expire. If I have "Ultimate Parkhopper Length of Stay" tickets, do they expire though?
We didn't make it to a park on the first and last day of our stay, so for 4 people that would make 8 park entries not used.

Does anyone know? Or is Mickey around to answer?

Re: Park ticket expiration question

This is very true. Park tickets never expire, the plusses also never expire. The only limitation to this is park tickets purchased Pre-AK. If you still have Pre-AK tickets they will not be accepted for admission to AK.

Re: Park ticket expiration question

Actually, I think Length of Stay tickets do expire on the day you check out of the resort. Regular park hopper tickets never expire, but length of stay ones do.

Re: Park ticket expiration question

Length of stay tickets expire at midnight on your check out day. That is why they are called "length of stay". Regular park hoppers never expire, so if you have days left on them you can take them on your next trip.

Thats not very cool!! Wow... they should extend the same rights to a Length of Stay as a PH.

Re: Park ticket expiration question

I think that is because Length of stay passes are generally part of a package with the room?

Rats, that makes sense and I thought that as well. I was just hoping. Next time I'll be using Mousketrips for much better advice.
Thanks bearers of not so good news.

That's exactly the point. The Ultimate Park Hopper is only offered through Disney Travel Co and is only offered in conjunction with your room in Disney hotels. It's the same with any meals and wishes that are part of the Silver, Gold, and Platinum Dream Makers, it all expires at midnight on the day you check out.

Re: Park ticket expiration question

Hello Dopey
You might want to make continuing reservations if you will not be able to use all days of your length of stay passes. For example, we arrived very late on a saturday night for a 7 night vacation. We couldn't go to the parks on Saturday so we made a one night reservation for Saturday and then we made a six night reservation for the rest of the nights. We got length of stay passes for the six nights only. We saved a bundle of money. They didn't even make is change rooms but we did have to check in again on Sunday. You could do this on the end of your trip too.

Is this too confusing?

thanks Disneymom!!
No, it's not confusing. I just wish that I had thought about the possibilities before I purchased that particular package. It's too late now and like I said up there somewhere, I will have Mickey take care of business and then I'll get a better deal.

Re: Park ticket expiration question

If this is something that would save you money, I would definitely call and see if you can change your plans. It couldn't hurt!

Re: Park ticket expiration question

we did the room at the beginning and end of our trip to avoid paying for park admission and food that we wont use. It got a little confusing since its 3 seperate reservation #s but it was definately worth the money savings. Just make sure that you get it done early enough to get the discounted room.

Re: Park ticket expiration question

That reminds me. We've been booking Dream Maker vacations for the past few years, and book a single night at the end for similar effect. The pass is good from day of arrival to day of plan departure, as are meals and wishes. They all expire at midnight and now you have had a full extra day before you leave. That is, book a 3 day Dream Maker and a single day and you have 4 days at Disney. Again, your milage will vary.

Re: Park ticket expiration question

You can also drop the first and/or last day of a length of stay pass if you purchase it at your hotel. Thus, if you are staying 7 nights - you can get a length of stay pass for 6 days instead of the 8 Disney wants you to pay for.
