Icon9 Calendar or lack thereof

Is anyone else frustrated with how late WDW makes the calendar??? I am still waiting to see the firework schedule for Feb and tomorrow is Dec 1. I dont know the hours of the parks or fireworks or parades for most of the trip and planning meals and events without the calendar is making me worry that I might miss a parade or show or something .

Re: Calendar or lack thereof

I would think that our Feb sched. should be out very soon!! I have just assumed that there will only be an evening parade at MK on Sat. although there was one, I believe on a Wed. when we were there last Feb.

Yeah...that's always been an irritant to me. Here we can make PS 90 days out, but it's hard to schedule them around parades etc if we don't know the schedule that far out!

Re: Calendar or lack thereof

Thank-you for feeling my pain- I wish they would have set times and days for fireworks and parades and then if they need to add later they can but this "wait to see how many are planning on coming" theory stinks. I was told that this is how they decide park hours and parades etc.. The last time we went on a long trip we missed the Electric parade because it was on Sat and then on Thurs and we were on the land and sea pkg. so we arrived sunday and left for the boat thurs morning. I wish that it mattered to them as much as it does to us. I am so glad Im not alone in this-
Perhaps a petition?????

I have yet to see a petition that did anything as far as Disney is concerned. Which is a shame, actually! I think they should monitor these discussion boards & see what we fans (or fanatics, as the case may be ) really think.

Re: Calendar or lack thereof

As much as its about a mouse- Im sure that they know that we will all still keep coming and paying an arm and a leg even when the parks close at 6pm. It seems that you have a choice- wait in lines all day or in the heat and get a parade and fireworks guranteed or take a chance with cheaper rooms and less lines and no firework/parade.

Re: Calendar or lack thereof

Oh yeah, the lack of posted park hours for February is really frustrating me too. I'm a compulsive planner and every thing is done except my park itinerary! I also want to go to MK when Spectromagic will be running so therefore have to wait to book my PS also! I'm almost ready to book one at Crystal Palace for everyday we will be at WDW and then cancel the ones we won't be using when the schedule is finally posted! But I don't think that's fair just in case there comes a day that's full and then someone else tries to make a PS and can't get one!!! Uuuuugh.

Re: Calendar or lack thereof

I would bet you anything that Disney has a person or people whose full-time job it is to monitor unofficial fan sites for what the chatter is out there. If they don't, then they are stupid.

Re: Calendar or lack thereof

we did the book crt everyday - but we decided that we really wanted to do MK the first day anyhow so we kept the only day we could count on spectromagic. Im more concerned about park closing now because we are going to the whoop de doo that day at 5 and if the park closes early we are not going to see spectromagic at all. Im soo frustrated with the whole coordination of it all!!

Re: Calendar or lack thereof

Well, I have been checking the calender daily and am begin to fill like I have obsessive compulsive disorder. Anyway...we are trying to plan our trip around spectro magic as well. Even bought two extra days of tickets just in case!!! I made PS a Chef Mickeys for 8pm one night...I think it is late enough to not miss anything isn't it?

Re: Calendar or lack thereof

Well it's interesting that on Jan 31, which is a Mon. there is a Spectro and it looks like Timekeeper may be open (It says Timekeeper open seasonally). I hope Timekeeper is open when we go at the end of Feb., I have never seen it and I have heard it is awesome!

Re: Calendar or lack thereof

We'll be there Dec 11-19 & I'm hoping CoP is open. Does anyone know if they will wait to open it until Christmas week or do you think it will be open when we're there?
