Residential Street was removed to make room for the new Stunt Show.

It's based on the show that's currently at Disneyland Paris. I think it's going to be open in the Spring.

All the house facades on Residential Street were demolished to make way for the new Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, which I believe is scheduled to open in May of 2005. The stunt show drivers have been practicing for at least a month in a far corner of an unused parking lot at Epcot. There are privacy screens around the area but you can still catch a glimpse every now and then, and you can certainly hear the roaring engines and squealing tires from just about anywhere in the Epcot parking lots.

Re: New Osborne Lights better than before

Good to hear the new lights don't disappoint. This will be my first year seeing them so I don't have anything to compare them to. But it's nice to know they're still looking good.

Re: New Osborne Lights better than before

I have never seen the lights before this year, but I thoroughly enjoyed them. I was amazed at the thousands and thousands of lights used. I loved the snow on Main Street during the Christmas Party and was thrilled to find it was with the lights as well. My only complaint was that the streets that the lightss were on were so so so so jam-packed that I couldn't stop to look at any or back up to view any again without becoming a casualty!! I really don't know how I made it through pushing a stroller.

The new lights are okay but I much preferred the old lights on Residential Street. It seems a little too gawdy to me this year but it seems people are split. You can only judge for yourself though so I urge everyone to see the lights!

Re: New Osborne Lights better than before

This was my second time viewing the Osbourne Lights. I prefer this year's set-up. I viewed them opening night and it was very crowded. But, everyone was in a cheery mood!

Re: New Osborne Lights better than before

I made it to MGM last night a half hour before they closed - with the intent of checking out the lights. I didn't really expect it to be that much, since I live in NY and get to see a lot of spectacle at Christmastime.
Boy was I wrong.
My jaw literally dropped when I walked in and saw the spectacular spectacle in front of me. I didn't even recognize the streets anymore. I had no real idea where I even was at that point. It looked absolutely stunning. Something definitely worth seeing in person, imho.
I have been feeling rather "christmassy" this holiday season, so this was the PERFECT way to end my extended weekend trip to Disney.

I definately think this is a "must do" for anyone going in the next couple of weeks.

Also - I understand there were some events at Downtown Disney as well. I was way too tuckered out from my weekend scampering to check them out last night, but those of you who can go, do make sure to see what that's all about.

But DO not miss the Osbourne light show. It really makes you feel a lot like Christmas.
I feel as though I just got back from visiting "Christmas".
