magic kingdom rope drop

ok..so..tell me about the magic kingdom opening ceremonies...is it worth seeing once in your life...when should you get there...also...has anyone ever seen the "kiss goodnight" whats that all about??

The opening in the morning is great-granted there is some work going on in the area between where they do the bag checks and the actual entrance, so it's a bit of a tight squeeze right now. The Mayor of the MK comes out and announces that the train will be arriving shortly with special guests (characters and a special family). The family get'sto open the park with Pixie Dust. It was great. I had tears in my eyes, and had to choke back the sobs!

The kiss goodnight isn't all that spectacular. Mickey stands at the train station, looking out at the turnstiles you entered through, and waves goodnight. He also blows kisses. It's a nice little extra touch, but not a trip highlight.

Who killed Bambi?
The ceremony happens regardless of early opening, that's just for Disney resort guests. The opening is the daily park opening at 9. No wonder I've never seen the actual kiss good night, we're usually running to Epcot for Illuminations or our dinner PS at the last possible time so we could see Wishes.
