Turtle Talk

My apologies if this has been discussed here, before. I took a brief look through the posts and didn't see it.

We just returned from a 5 day trip to WDW. On one of our late nights we stopped into Kimonos at the Swan to check out the karaoke for the upcoming meet I was hosting.

There were very few people there that night. One table in the front had two young couples sitting there having a good time. They got up and sang several times, fooling around and being quite funny. They had us laughing out loud.

At the end of the evening when the karaoke was done, they waved us over to their table. Turns out the two guys were Imagineers. They asked me what I would change about Disney, and asked if we'd been on the new Stitch ride and what we thought of it. Without thinking, I blurted out "it $uck$". Then I was horrified thinking one of them may have designed it and quickly apologized.

But they assured me that they already knew all about it and that it was closing down soon to be revamped. Word has it, it will go down in February some time.

Then they asked us if we'd been to see Turtle Talk yet. We had not. They said no one really knows about it yet, but it was very cool and we should be sure to check it out at the Living Seas pavillion.

So we made a point of heading over there to see it. It was not easy to find, we had to ask a few CM's how to get there. We finally found it in the lower level in a theater.

Let me tell you, they were right on! It was very cool indeed! So much so that we spent the next half hour or so discussing how we thought they had achieved the amazing effects!

Be sure to check it out on your next trip!!

Re: Turtle Talk

That is crazy that they are already talking about rehabbing/closing Stitch. The worst part is that they may do all this before I get to even see it to complain about how bad it is.

Re: Turtle Talk

I loved Turtle Talk. We got into the last show of the evenig befoe the building closed. I'll never figure out how it works, and maybe that's the magical part. I was up at the front with the kids (ok, off to the side on the flor). My kids were a bit started, and kept hiding heir faces, but I smiled ear to ear the whole time. As for Stitch, it could be better.

This was our second time staying in the Swan. I love it there. The whole resort is decorated so very prettily, the beds are like sleeping on a cloud, the rooms are beautiful, the location is tops: you can't beat those Friendship launches! I was very pleased with the service there too. We met some very friendly people who were working there.

I know - even if it stinks, I still want to see it myself before they close it for rehab! I'm going mid Feb, so hopefully I'll get to see it. As for Turtle Talk, I had read an article somewhere about how good it was, so we will definitely make a point to see it. That is one of the few attractions at Epcot that my son will probably be interested in!

What is Turtle Talk about? I am guessing a movie about sea turtles. I will make sure we do not miss it on our next trip!!!!

I agree. We missed it in October because it opened in Nov. Now we are going in April and might miss it again if it closes in Feb. Somebody at WDW should be getting a "white glove" butt whooping on this!

Re: Turtle Talk

Oh dear... let me clear this up.

Turtle Talk is not a movie, but a very ingenious interactive attraction.

And Turtle Talk is not scheduled to close for a redesign. Stitch's Great Escape is the one closing down in Feb.

I understand. I was commenting on Stitch.

Re: Turtle Talk

Turtle talk was fantastic. We tried to see it in the early part of our visit and waited 20 mins, were let in the theater and then were told that Crush was 'in another part of the ocean' and couldn't come talk to us. We were so disappointed. But we made it back there on our way out of the part 3 days later. My kids sat front & center and Crush talked to both of them. Then picked my DH out of the audience, held up a bikini top and asked him what it was for? We all got such a kick out of this attraction. Ever since we've been all saying 'DUUUDE' :-)

I agree about Stich. Actually, the first part isn't so bad, and Stich is fantastic, but after the lights went out, we all lost interest. I would have been mad if we'd had to wait in line for it.
