I went last year in June and it was awful so this year September sounded good and I am a travel agent so in the past it used to be travel agent month. I figured must be a slow month if they are giving discounts. Is it really as slow as I am hearing?

We been going to WDW for the past 5 years in May, Sept and Dec. Those are the best time. You can keep June thru the first two weeks of Sept and anytime that there is a holiday or school vacation. Even though the parks close earlier you still get to do everything and get to do Pleasure Island without the crowd except on the weekends.

I've been going in September for over ten years now, and it's great (with a couple of caveats).
1 - Parks close earlier. For example, during the third week of Sept., MK is closed at 6pm. Given the reduced length of queue, there'll be ample time to see everything that's open (with a few repeat rides as well). You'll be just as tired, though. Reduced crowds do not mean less walking. 2 - Not everything is open. With that being said, very little (by my experience) is closed for rehab until October. In the same vein, entertainment is reduced - for example, the MSEP only runs on Saturdays during this period. 3 - The weekends are proportionally bigger than during the summer. This is because the locals start coming back after the summer rush. During the summer, Saturday is a decent (relatively speaking) day to go to the parks since it is a common travel day. 4 - There is one crowd issue that you should be aware of that occurs during September and October. Traditionally, these are the months that find large South American (typically Brazilian) tour groups in the parks. Understand that these groups literally swamp attraction queues, and it is not uncommon for the guides to group up either by using the same tour plan, or just because they know each other. If you encounter these groups, figure out which direction they are going and get a couple attractions ahead of them. Given their size, they travel slowly and stop at every bathroom. Skip an attraction with a tour guide out front.

Although I've only been to WDW on Labour Day on one occasion (hardly statistically significant, I know), I can only say that you are in luck.
Labour Day was one of quietest days at the MK I have ever had the pleasure to experience. The line at Space Mountain never got past the second zig-zag (50 people, maybe?). The line for Splash Mountain only extended just past the last turn on the way down into loading area. Everything else was walk-on. For purposes of context, this was 1993. Given the way I'm hearing the crowds are these days, you're likely to enjoy the same sort of day that I did. My friend and I actually 'did' MK twice and still had lots of time for repeat performances of our favourites. My fingers are crossed that you get the same sort of crowds this year.

I think 07Sep and 14Sep are Jewish Holidays. Maybe that will have an effect on Labour Day. I am grasping here.
:hmmm

Its so much fun. I recommend staying AWAY from the magic kingdom sept. 7th and 8th, those are the two nights for NoJ. They close the park down for regular guests at 7. I cant wait!

Now you guys are getting me all worked up. I haven't been in 5 years - the longest stretch in my life without going to a Disney theme park. The previous stretch was 2 years - birth to 1972 when I first went to Disneyland.
Oh man! So many new things to see - it's worse than Christmas. And that means a lot for me because that's also my birthday. I'm especially looking forward to AK, Buzz Lightyear SRS, Test Track and Winnie-the-Pooh in terms of the new stuff.

We're going Sept. 13-21 and staying at Poly. in a concierge room. My hubby is attending a huge conference at the World Center Mariott Resort & Conference Center so I guess that will draw some crowds. We were supposed to stay at the Mariott but wonderful hubby managed to talk his ever so kind boss into letting him stay on Disney property to make the family happy. Yippee!! We have to pay the room difference but his company will be paying for travel exp. including mileage and food for hubby...what a deal! Hubby will be done with his conference most days by noon or 3pm so it will really be like a paid vacation for him. For dd and I... we'll be heading to the parks early sans daddy and enjoying the wonderful Polynesian amenities! Can't wait.
