Magic Kingdom on a Saturday or Sunday?

Hi ya all. I was just wondering about which day would be better to do our Magic Kingdom day, Saturday or Sunday? I'm assuming both days are probably busy, but which is the least of the 2 evils? We are only getting to spend 3 days at Disney and then going on our cruise. I wanna try to make the most of the time while we're there. I'm trying to hit something each day, like the first day which is Friday we're planning on doing Disney Quest. That one is for sure on Friday, as it's open later than the water parks. Which is the other thing we wanna do. So we're trying to figure out which day to do Magic Kingdom and the water park. Also which water park is best? I kinda like the ideal of the swimming with the sharks (so to speak) at the one park. But is one better than the other? Any input would be great. Thanks guys.

Re: Magic Kingdom on a Saturday or Sunday?

Sunday is my vote. During the off-season a lot of locals flood the parks during the weekends, especially on Saturdays.

Dammed locals. How dare they want to go to the park in their town when the tourists aren't shoulder to shoulder and use their annual passes and Florida 4 Day passes. Ha ha.
Ha.

HAHAHA... The funny part is that I have seen it first hand. Personally I prefer the locals over the tourist, because we all know how tourist can be sometimes.

BTW: I still consider myself a local. Jacksonville is local to Orlando

Re: Magic Kingdom on a Saturday or Sunday?

Well I have a different point of view- Im going on saturday because there is no light parade and fireworks on sunday. I only have certain days to go to each park and I have to work around the schedules to manage the most for my trip-
BTW - east coast makes me feel local! same time zone

Re: Magic Kingdom on a Saturday or Sunday?

It does if this may be your only chance to see them in a few or any years- At the rate our finances are going it might be our last chance ever!!! So much for holiday bonuses!

Re: Magic Kingdom on a Saturday or Sunday?

Woohoo, very good point that you've made. Thanks so much. I too also want to see the parade and fireworks but didn't realize they didn't do it every night. I'm going mid April and am told that is peak season. So I just assumed they'd do it every night. How can I find out if they will be doing the parades and fireworks on the days I'm there? If they don't do it on the Sunday I'll have to opt for Saturday and fight the crowds. :-( Thanks to everyone else for their responds too.

Stay away on Saturday!!! We've been for the past 5 years and Saturdays are not only a nightmare but we all leave in bad moods.

When they post park hours for when you're going (90 days in advance) you can click on the day and it will give you hours and parade/fireworks times and if any attactions will be closed or not operating. Just visit www.waltdisneyworld.com
