OUCH!

SG, this is a perfect place to express suggestions and/or opinions. I don't think you posted anything bad.

I guess the point is that a line needs to be drawn somewhere, or else little "loopholes" like the one you're suggesting could really turn into something that gets exploited, then the whole thing gets ruined for everyone else.

My suggestion would be to call Disney and explain the situation and see if they have any policies about it. My motto is to stay above board because you can see so much better that way.

Re: Evening Extra Magic Hours ?

I agree about a line being draw. But I feel that leeway can be made for an extra two guests representing a room if the room isn't fully occupied. I'm not advocating someone bringing in a party of 13 in addition to the 5 in their room. The math shows the system can absorb a small overage because every guest from every resort will not be in the Magic Hour park at the same time. People will have other plans for the evenings. People will not get up in time to be at gates at 8 AM. Be a guest, don't be a pig. If I was running Disney World, I would allow for one or two extra guests representing a room for Magic Hour events as they are not hard ticket events like Christmas and Halloween.

Re: Evening Extra Magic Hours ?

I agree that everyone has their own opinion about this, but here are my two cents. I agree that one or two extra people isn't a big deal. But, one or two extra people per room is a big deal. I think alot more people will take advantage of the extra hours at the end of the day, than do the early morning entry. I never get up to go to the morning entries, but you can bet I will stay late for the evening hours. These hours are provided for Disney resort guests and should be reserved for use by them. One of the perks of staying on site, which we all know we pay more to stay there!

Re: Evening Extra Magic Hours ?

I'm doing it next week. From what I've researched, no sooner than 2 hours before closing you must present your room key and get a wristband. No wristband, no attractions.

Adding to the 2 cent discussion. What if my family of four went to an all-you-can-eat-buffet; does that give the right for a guest of ours to grab a plate and start eating without paying? No. To my mind there's no stretch here. It's black & white. Extra Hours are a perk for those paying for a WDW room.

*Picks up wet noodle and gives SG 20 lashings. Then sits down with him for an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner.*

Re: Evening Extra Magic Hours ?

You almost have a point with the all you can eat buffet. Almost. The extra hour and the buffet would be more like, I'm at Crystal Palace for breakfast, but stay for 2 hours through lunch and keep eating. But you've still payed for something. Speaking of Crystal Palace, say you have a PS for 7:30, it's an EE day, but you're not a Disney hotel guest. You finish eating at 8:00. Do you leave the park or go to attractions? You're in the park but not a hotel guest. Again, I'll maintain that all 30,000 rooms won't all have 6 guests in the Magic Kingdom at the same time. You won't have a fraction of that. Depending on park hours at the other parks, and Epcot will always be open until 9, I doubt you'll have more than 5,000 people in the park. IF too many people start to take advantage of my "loophole" you can be sure that Disney management will notice and clamp things down a little. It isn't like I'll have a friend with me every time, or even any time. Friends still have to pay for park admission, right?
You know I'm too deep in the corner now to back down gang.

I def see both sides of this one...I hope I didn't start a debate, I certainly did not mean for that to happen, I just threw out my 2 cents.

Re: Evening Extra Magic Hours ?

Actually, Epcot will now be open til midnight one night a week.

I'll give you the EE for a character breakfast...BUT I don't think they serve spaghetti.

Still, to me the issue isn't how it effects crowds.

You didn't start it, I did, even if I didn't mean to. The moral is, sometimes it's best to keep some tips to yourself, you never know who you might upset. I think I see this as being the honor system vs. strict enforcement. But you all know I'm the one who cries that there's no buses from the parks to DTD because that perk was abused by locals and non Disney resort guests. I see the irony of this.

I don't know that I read anyone being upset. I hope you didn't read my comments as such.
