We are going back to WDW!!!

We went to WDW this past November for a long weekend and had not planned on going back until May or June. Well, all that changed today. My father is going to the Petty driving experience and we are going up for the weekend so we can see him drive. Not sure yet if it is going to be a Friday-Sunday, or Saturday-Monday stay yet. His driving course is scheduled for March 13th (his birthday). We are definitely going to have to hit MGM's Pizza Planet for my 3 yr old son (his favorite place on earth these days). Not sure yet when we are going to Magic Kingdom but I am sure we will fit in a few hours there over the couple of days there (seasonal passes so we can hop).

It looks like we are going to stay at the value resort....anyone recommend one over another???? I havent stayed there in years. I would prefer the
Pt Orleans Riverside but my sister and brotherinlaw will only go if we stay at the Value. Also, how are the crowds in March? I know it is peak season but I am hoping it is before the rush.

Re: We are going back to WDW!!!

I would stay at PC if I was chosing between the values. I haven't stayed there, but visited last trip and was impressed. I have stayed at ASMusic and probably wouldn't stay there again, but only because I choose not to do value resorts.

Re: We are going back to WDW!!!

We have stayed at Allstar Music and Pop Century and of the two we like PC better just because the location is closer to MGM and MGM is one of our favorite parks.

Re: We are going back to WDW!!!

We were there last year Mid-March and the crowds weren't too bad. Maybe the first day or so, but then thinned out during the week. We had a little rain, but just threw on our ponchos and sandals (I hate wet socks & tennies) and made the most of it. Congrats on your trip, have a great time!! We'll be in there in May and just can't wait!!!

Re: We are going back to WDW!!!

Oh, I forgot to add that we've stayed at AS Movies (toy story), AS Sports (surfsup) and Pop Century. Pop Century didn't seem to be as noisy...maybe because it was pretty new and folks hadn't discovered it yet..don't know...but everything was so new and clean and wonderful! We loved AS Movies Toy Story, the kids were 5yo on our 1st trip and it was so cool to walk in and see a 3 story Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Probably wouldn't do SurfsUp again just because it seemed so normal I guess...I like something with the Disney Magic to it so Toy Story would be my favorite of those 3. We are now DVC members and looking forward to our first visit to SSR!

I would definitely recommend the PC. It is the best of the value resorts.

How large are the pizzas at Pizza Planet? We've never eaten there, and I see on the menu at Deb's that they are all 'individual size'. For almost six bucks apiece, that seems kind of pricey for an individual size pizza, but are they big enough to share?

I stayed at All Star Music way back when, before Movies was opened, and I plan on staying at Pop Century next time we go. I like the fact that there is only one hotel on the route, versus all three of the All Stars. I'm tired at the end of the day, and have srthritis in my knees, so the sooner I can off my feet the better. Other than that, it's newer. But All Star Movies has more "Disney" ambience, with the icons and such. If you just want a place to flop, any of them is fine.

The pizzas are just big enough to fit on their large paper plate. My dh could easily eat two I am sure. I ate one and it was just enough for me. I dont like to eat alot when I am on the go at the parks. My 3 yr old ate about 1/2 or 3/4 of one himself but he had not had much of a breakfest and was hungry (at 11am...early lunch). They have a meal where you can get a side salad with a pizza as well. It was pricey but so is everything at WDW.

If you have never been to pizza planet and are fans of Toy Story it is a fun place to check out.

Thanks CaraMia! I'll keep it in mind, but I don't like to eat heavier type meals at the parks either, makes it difficult to keep slogging :) and DS isnt' a pizza lover at all. I like to grab a sandwich or fruit or something for lunch. But we'll have to make a point of at least seeing the place, I think the kids would get a kick out of it.
