when to go in October 2005

Hi! i need help on when yo go in October 2005. My husband and i dont have kids yet and i know there are some school vacations in Ocotber. I have also notice prices change from mid October to end of October. Do you all think end of October would be better do to it being off season.
My Dh and I went to Disney in Ocober 2003 right at the beginning of the month and found it extremely busy. Just wanted to get some other views.
Thanks

and p.s to all that knew i was getting married. We got married in November in St Thomas Virigin Islands. the Wedding was beautiful but lets just say the resort was not Disney!! i missed WDW so much i am happy to be planning another trip!!

Re: when to go in October 2005

Wow, what a fantastic place to go for a wedding! Lucky you.
We went to WDW Oct 10-16 2004 and stayed at the Contemporary Resort. The park was pretty crowded at that time. We didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes for a bus though, and not all of the buses were full. It rained a few times, but that usually meant shorter lines. We ended up buying ponches two different times. If I went in October again, I think I would pick the end of October. I think it would be a lot less crowded then.

Congrats to you!!!!! I am also going in october 05 and picked the end of the month due to a small halloween break my DD gets over Halloween. Most catholic schools have the day after halloween off for All Saints. You may want to go the week before Halloween to avoid that.

Re: when to go in October 2005

We went the beginning of October this year and it was great. The lines were not to long and it was pretty nice weather. We plan to go again during that time because of it not being peak time and there being lower crowds.

Re: when to go in October 2005

We got to Disney and Universal every October, though closer to the end. I try to have our anniversary at Disney, but some stuff about the third weekend in October. Every year there is a PGA event at one of the Disney golf courses and it looks like the deluxe resorts fill faster than the rest. Also, I've noticed for years that there are a lot of British visitors and found out that there's a week long school holiday over there, so they come to Florida. The crowds and weather aren't as bad as summer, but I think if you want value season, that starts after Nov 1.
Disney Fever says it rained a few times when he was at WDW. I know I got rained on twice on the night of Oct 19, in the middle of Wishes, and again in the middle of Illuminations. But usually October in Orlando is clear and dry.

Re: when to go in October 2005

I usually go the first week of October and have never run into crowds. The longest wait I usually encounter is about 30 minutes. Also, if you are planning to do MNSSHP I would recommend going early in the month, as it sounds like the closer you get to Halloween the more crowded it gets.

Re: when to go in October 2005

I recommend early to mid october.
I go the last week of October, 1st week of November as my DD (and the rest of the state) has off from school so that is officially JERSEY WEEK!
Every where you go, you'll see one of us Jerseyians
I think we are the only ones down there besides a few others, LOL
Anyways, even though 1/2 the state of Jersey was there, the lines weren't bad and the weather was beautiful!
Only thing is, don't go too early in the month as Florida usually gets hit with the tail end of Hurricanes!
Disney got alot of rain, high winds last year into the beginning of October.

Re: when to go in October 2005

Another idea is to go the 2nd week of November, if your into this, Super Soap Weekend is the 2nd weekend in November and festivities held at MGM.
I have been dying to go during this time but my DD has school.

You should go the week of the DisneyCentral Meet & Greet!! LOL... The dates are TBD yet, but will be chosen by the end of the week. Anytime in October is a good time.
