Ok, thought I had it all worked out, then Disney desided to change everything this past weekend.

We originally were going to purchase the 5 day hopper at a total of $1400. But now, the 5 day hopper is $1300. Great. Now, I see that if I skip the "hopper" option and get a 7 day non hopper, it would only cost us $1100.

Here's my quesiton:

According to our itinerary, we are spending 5 days in the parks and we are not going to park hop. With a group our size it would take half the day to get from one park to the other. The only day we might have used the "hop" is AK day since the park closes at 5.

Now, if I get the 7 day, and I want to leave AK and go to MK or EC or MGM, I can just use another day, right? That also gives us an extra day at the parks (I have 3 non park days schedualed for our trip)

So, whatda ya think? 5 or 6 day hopper (1300-1350) or 7 or 10 day non hopper (1100-1120)

If your confused, how do you think I feel?

Go for the longer non hopper passes. You'll still be saving money, yes?

Jen, the 7-day non-hopper seems to be the best option.

But I don't understand why it would take so long to hop?

First, I recommend that if the group is that large, that you should plan on breaking into smaller, more managable groups.

Second, with the exception of AK, you can park at one park and hop to the other without using your car. You can go back to your car at anytime later. The buses run for 2 hours after park closing and the monorails run well after midnight.

I read on MouseSavers that you can't use two days of a ticket on the same day.

No, you won't be able to do this. Guests are not able to use additional base days to visit multiple theme parks on the same day. Only one theme park visit can be used per day.

Even though you can't use the extra days to hop I would still go with the nonhopping 7 day passes since it is cheaper if you are 100% you aren't going to park hop. Plus it sounded like you have additional days there that you aren't planning on being park days but now they can be if some of your party wishes to do so if you go with the 7 day passes.

I'd go with the longer non-hopping pass. You can still leave the park you are in,go to your resort,and then go back to the same park.

Thanks everyone ~ I'm really glad you told me about not being able to use two tickets (which just doesn't make any sense, but whatcha gonna do?!?) Still haven't made up our minds Gotta talk to the other couple. I really don't want to spend a total of $180.00 to have the option of park hopping. We could always spend a quite nite elsewhere on our AK day, and still have the two extra days as an option.

Do you think the PH option is worth $180.00? That's about two dinners out ~

How often did everyone park hop? With a 7 day non hopper, we'll get two days each in 3 of the parks

I happen to think the park hopping option is worth adding $35 per ticket to the base ticket. We like to have options when we tour. You can play in one park and eat in another park if you want. If one park is really busy we will go to a different park to see if the crowds are better there. I just don't like to be locked in, I like to be flexable.

What's the $180 for PH? How many tickets are you adding the hopping option to?

we hopped the heck out of the parks when we were there last time--but thats because we COULD--dbf and i had never gotten PH's before so we were a little over excitied to use them and therefore ended up spending A LOT of time on the bus/ monorail..which is OK..but in retrospect im glad we had them...but...35 dollars seems a little much to me unless your staying for ten plus days---and next time we head to wdw we probaly WONT hope just because of this silly thing..the only reason we bought the hoppers before was bc they were a savings...

How much does it cost to add the no expiration option? It might be worth it to buy the longer tickets and have them not expire. If if costs you the same as the shorter option it might bo worth it!!! I'm all for two trips to WDW!!!

I don't know what we're gonna do ~ Nadia thinks it's really important to hop ~ I would rather save the money and have the extra days (7 instead of 5) At this point I feel like telling her to find a different place to stay, buy your own tickets and sit on the opposite side of the plane from me....

There's so much to see at each park and since we're not too worried about the crowds next week and we've planned which park which day to avoid things like EE and busist days (according to the unoffical guide for 2005) I just don't see why we would hop ~ all of our PS's are done in the parks we are planning for that day and honestly, since the parks close earlier, i don't want to waste any time traveling during the day.

But Nadia doesn't see it that way. Nadia wants to hop. Nadia doesn't even know what each of the 4 parks is called!!!!!!!
