AP for my situation ?

Wondering if an anual pass would help us out at all.
We are going for 8 nights in May, and I'll be booking 2 to 3 rooms, depending on which friends are going along.
Any idea if the AP discounts on the rooms would outweigh it's cost?

Thanks!!!

Re: AP for my situation ?

I know that you can book up to 3 rooms on an AP. We are going in a few weeks and were offered value resorts at $49 /night or moderate for $79 per night. It varies with the season. When I went in Aug. we got a moderate for $85 per night. It is worth it for us because we go every year and so we can get 2 trips out of our AP. For instance if you go in may this year with your AP and then next year go in April your AP is still good so you get two major trips out of it. You only need one AP to book the rooms so only one adult needs to buy one and then put the rooms in their names. Hope this info. helps.

Re: AP for my situation ?

Don't know what category of hotel your thinking about, but I'm leaving for WDW in four days and bought one mainly for the room discounts. I was offered a value for 49.00, a moderate for 79.00, Wilderness Lodge courtyard view for 149.00 and Animal Kingdom Lodge savanna view for 151.00. The rack price for those rooms during value season are 77.00, 133.00, 250.00, and 275.00 respectivley. I'm doing a split stay between WL and AKL and saved over 700.00 with tax, so for me it was a good deal. The AP was only 158.69 more than a 5 day park hopper would have been (with tax). Even if I had gone with a value hotel, I still would have saved money (just not as much). Without the AP there is no way I could have afforded a deluxe and especially not with a courtyard or savanna view. In addition I will have unlimited park entry, hopefully good codes I can use on future rooms, and discounts for food, mini golf, water parks, Disney Quest, Richard Petty Experience, merchandise, and other perks for the next year. I also just read on another forum that AP holders now can get the Disney Dining Experience that was only offered before to Florida residents for 50.00. It gives you 20% off almost all sit down restaurants as well as quite a few counter service places. For me not buying a AP wouldn't make sense. You only need one per party and you can book up to three rooms (the savings in that alone would pay for the AP--as long as codes continue that is). I plan to order the Disney Dining Experience this morning when they open. It will cost 50.00, but I've got at least seven PS scheduled for this trip, so it would save me at least 50.00-60.00 this trip, plus I plan on making at least 3 more trips down there this year and on my May trip, I'll be doing mostly sit down restaurants, so the 20% savings will quickly add up. Without my AP I would not qualify for this perk.

Do you remember where you got the info on the dining experience? I know about the room deal, last time on two rooms we save about 80 dollars a night. And we did get a few Epcot lunches for 10% off, but I don't know anything about the 20% thing. Thanks

Disney's Dining Experience is a card that will allow you discounts of 20 percent at many of the restaurants in WDW. I have had it for the past 2 years. If they are offering it to APers at only 50 dollars, though, they sure as he-double hockey sticks-had better offer it to Fla residents at that price!!!
