Water Park ?

The last time we were at Disneyworld was in March 2001 and Typhoon Lagoon was the only waterpark open. From what I remember the other one (I've forgotten the name-brain cramp) was closed for renovations which was a real bummer. The year prior to that we were there in February and only Typhoon Lagoon was open again because of "weather". Does anyone know the status of the water parks at the moment? Not too sure how much things have changed over the past 3-4 years. TIA

What are BB's hours of operation for 2005?

January 1 - January 31: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
February 1 - 28: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
March 1 - 19: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
March 20 - 31: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Blizzard Beach hours subject to change without notice

Typhoon Lagoon closed till aprox. March 2005 they are closed for refurbishment right now.

I'm almost positive one is in refurb in Oct. and the other in Jan. I'm not sure which one is when though.

There is at least one water park open all year, though. Please, you experts, correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for the inof. I really hope that Blizzard Beach (yes...that was the name that escaped me before) is open since we have never been lucky enough to get there. We really enjoyed Typhoon Lagoon, but will be happy as long as one of them is open and we get some sunshine and warmer temps (I'm just outside Toronto, so warmer temps could mean anything really

)

BTW...How can I add a countdown to my posts?

Welcome to DC. You'll have fun planning with everyone here.

River County is closed indefinately. You can still see the tower behind the wall when you go to Mickey's Backyard BBQ though. The bathrooms you use for the BBQ are the old locker rooms for River Country.

They are putting in a new roller coaster at TL. We preferred TL over BB. BB has more body slides than tube rides where as TL has more tube rides than body slides. We thought the theming was better at BB though.

When you go to Fort Wilderness you can see parts of it. You can really see it when you take the boat ride from the MK to FW. It is really sad to see.

There were multiple issues concerning the closing of River Country, discussions have been going on for some time between WDW Sports and Recreation and the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground to possibly reopen but it doesn't look too good as of right now. Some concerns involved funding of the park especially for much needed repairs as well as health concerns with large quantities of guests swimming in such a close proximity to Bay Lake. (This is just what I've heard of course)

We were at Disney world in Nov. and Blizzard Beach was still closed due to refurbishment. I'm speculating that the hurricanes caused delay in refurbishing. Typhoon lagoon was open.
