Re: Which Water Park?

Both of the waterparks have kids sections. My kids loved the wave pool at TL. I personally like TL better than BB. BB has more fast paced slides than TL I believe. You can bring food into the parks from what I remember, and try to look at a map of whichever waterpark you choose before you go in. I wish I had done that before we went to TL, it was bigger than I had expected.

Re: Which Water Park?

Hey Buzz... The water parks are a big part of our trips. Here's the scoop -- at TL, the kiddie section has some little slides that they can very easily manage by themselves, and some little water cannons they can shoot around. Plus, the wave pool has enormous areas specially designed for tiny kids to slide into and to play in small waves. And the lazy river is a great option. If your litte one is a decent swimmer, you could even try the Shark Tank, which has been our kids' favorite forever! Teh Shark Tank has gotten much easier now that you don;t have to wear a wetsuit shirt. Lots and lots of sand to play in, too. The tropical theme is pretty neat, especially if you live way up in teh great white north...
At BB, there is a larger kiddie section, but the littlest ones need an adult to help them on some of the slides. Also, the section is pretty far off the beaten path. There is also a smaller wave pool. The place is themed like winter, which we see for about 9 months out of the year at home!! That said, if your 4 year old likes to slide and is pretty sturdy, there are some very small slides that might also be appropriate right in the middle of the park. But be warned: BB has an unbelievably cool, very visible section for kids who are a little older -- like maybe the 6-10 year olds. But every kid who sees that section wants to be in it, even if they aren't anywhere near old enough. For that reason, we took the kids to TL for several years until they were old enough to enjoy all the BB options.

Re: Which Water Park?

Our vote goes for TL. It seems to be more relaxed, kiddie-friendly, etc. The wave pool is gr8 too. BB is good, but is geared more toward teens and young adults, with more thrill rides.

Re: Which Water Park?

Definately TL is more suitable for the younger children and BB more suitable for the teenagers.

Re: Which Water Park?

We went to both two times each on our last trip. We really like TL better than BB. BB's theme is cool. BB has mostly body slides where as TL has more tube slides. The pool is also bigger at TL than BB.

Re: Which Water Park?

Typhoon Lagoon is probably better suited for young children!

Re: Which Water Park?

I'd probably recommend TL for little kids. I think theres more to do at BB for older kids.

I thought the shark snorkeling had a age restriction. 9 yrs old, wasn't it? Have they changed it? Or am I imagining things?

Re: Which Water Park?

I got hurt at TL when i was little, so I'd say BB, but that is me. I have only been to TL once and that was the time I got hurt. I was so young that I can't remember it too well.

You can pick any day, not a weekend day though. We would go in the morning (water parks open about 10:00am) and we were basically done around1:30-2:00. When we were getting ready to leave it seemed to be picking up with people. I guess they would hit a major park and then go to a water park. We would go back to the resort, shower and head to a major park. Usually one we either had a PS at or where we decided to eat dinner.

In December, my niece 7 and my nephew 5 went in with me.....I think there may be an age limit on using a floatation device......It used to be everyone had to use one, this go around it was optional fro older people
