Does anyone know when they will increase the length of stay on the New tickets? I thought it was advertised that the longer you stay the better. But you can only book up to a 8 night stay on the packages.

I don't know about the packages...that is strange that you can only book up to 8 nights. You can, however, buy 10-day MYW passes. That is the longest pass available thus far.

I don't think they can go to 14 days, as they expire 14 days after you first use them. but I was hoping for a 12 day MYW pass. I guess 10 days will have to be enough.

Or you could buy two of them and stay 20 days!

10 days is the longest ticket. Do you really want to go to the parks more than that on one trip? I bought the 10 day tickets last week with the never expire option. It came out to be $37 a day with park hopper privileges. I'll use 5 days this year and 5 next.

Right now, the longest stay with a package can be 8 nights, with a 7 day park pass. I have been pushing hard from my end to get that extended. I have done some informal polling of CMs each time I call, and they say about half of the bookings for the new package are longer than 8 nights, and people are having to book two package. Totally stupid.

See this is what is happen to us we want a 10m day pass--but are staying at resort for 12 days...but to get the meal plan you have to have a package. So I guess I will stay with my ultimate park hopper that I have booked now instead of changing.

This might be a silly question, but, instead of buying a 6 day park hopper for a family of five for a total of $999 when we will probably only use it to park hop 4 days, can I buy a basic 10 day pass for a total of $917 and use it to hop(2 parks/day) for 4 days and 2 non-hopping days. It would be a decent savings. If I go to epcot in the morning would it take off one day then mgm at night and take off a second day or is there something in place that wouldn't make this work?

You have to remember that your polling of CM's at the Disney Reservation Center is just their opinion of trip length. Disney spent years studying average stay length and realized that it was only 4 DAYS!! That is the reason behind the MYW Packages, I'm sure if the desired stay is determined to be longer they will begin to offer longer packages. Just give it some time and don't necessarily believe what they tell you over the phone, of course the are going to tell you that most people are "booking 2 packages" that might influence you to stay longer!

With the cost of the last days being so little, it would pay to have as many days on your MYW ticket as your stay. That way, if you have a day away from the parks, and after a long day shopping off site, you feel like going to see the fireworks, you can go to the MK use a day and see the fireworks.

It is my understanding that this is not possible. You will only be permitted to use 1 day unless you add the park hopper feature.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

That is correct. If you purchase a pass without hopping, you will not be allowed to enter more than one park per day with your pass. If you want to hop, you have to purchase the hopping add on.

DisneyBoy - I work with a select few CMs, and speak to them every day. I have also spoken to the Director of Travel Agency Sales in person this week, and got the same information. While it may be true that the average trip is only 4 days, that includes locals, people staying off site, people stopping for one day on their way elsewhere, AP holders going on a short trip, etc. A good portion of the people who travel to WDW stay for 8 nights or longer. I didn't ask how long the average stay was, I asked how often they have to book packages for longer than 8 nights. The answer has been pretty consistant from each of them, close to half of the people that call want to stay longer than 8 nights.

Well, it's all still new and in it's first public outing. (the new tickets and packages) It will adjust.

We have booked a trip for the end of this year and we were able to book a 14 night ticket. We are in the UK i don't know if this makes a difference. We also had the option of a 21 night ticket, but this proves that Disney will do longer tickets!
