Is there a "bad Disney vacation bug" going around?? Okay, so really it was caver's report that got me worried, but even other recent reports seem to have more "Magic-dampening" events than usual.

I hope everyone's trips improve from here on out!

I don't know about a "bug", but it is just human nature to comment on the negative stuff. It's still the best place to be on earth. The bad stuff just reminds us to appreciate the good stuff even more!!

I don't think their trips were bad at all. Matt and caver both made very honest reports is all. I am determined for magic.....

I read those trip reports... I have to say, the good stuff seemed so good that I hardly noticed any inconveniences they faced! OK, it is really rough to have sick kids on a vacation, but if you're going to have sick kids on a vacation, WDW is the vacation to do it! Don't worry about your trip... WDW ius so wonderful that the good ALWAYS outweighs any bad you might have to deal with!

It's not the bad stuff, it's how you react to it and handle it that counts. If the magic is there, you won't let it bother you.

When I took my DH to WDW for the first time, before we were married, we were in line for Splash Mountain. (before fastpasses) We'd been in line for about 40 minutes. Suddenly these two obnoxious teenagers came pushing their way past the long line, one of them saying, "let me through I feel sick!" But he was laughing, and so obviously not sick! Everyone was angry, but no one really said anything until my DH yelled at him. I tried to calm him down, and I just kept saying "So what? So those two go on ahead of us? Don't let it ruin it for us!" And finally, he realized what I meant. Just shake your head at their rudeness and discourtesy, and I'm quite sure the CM's at the end of queue didn't let them on anyway, they would have seen what was happening. DH apologized to me and the others around us, and what could have ruined his whole day by leaving him with a lump of anger dissipated, and he had a much better day by repeating "What does it matter?"

Of course, it could have been the endless singing of Zip-ah-dee-do-dah as well

We had a great trip b/c we chose to make it great. The CM at the POFQ front desk was very uncaring about her job and acted like she didn't want to even be there. So that was disappointing since I have had much better service in the Holiday Inn of site..I just expected more from a Disney hotel/CM I guess. Everyone else in the resort was nice though.

The first day we got on the MK bus and we were the first to get on and DS was switching rows to come sit w/ me and some lady said "anyday now, there are lots of people waiting to get on". DH and I thought that was SO RUDE but let it pass and enjoyed the bus ride and the scenery on the way to MK.

Just put yourself in the Disney bubble, be glad to be there and ignore the cranky people and the little incidents that could ruin your vacation if you LET it.

I'm not worried anymore...thanks guys! When I really think about it, I guess I have encountered ALL SORTS of "bad" things on WDW trips, but they never get to me. I have an extremely strong, nearly-impenetrable "Disney bubble!"

CaribBeachNut--trip reports are my life source on DC. I couldn't live without reading them! I just take them kind of personally sometimes and wish I could have been there to "fend off" the nasty Magic-ruiners so that DCers had a stress-free trip!

I didn't think the TR's have been that bad lately. Yeah Cavey didn't have the best trip but that is because the kids got sick.

I'm glad you've changed your mind about the TRs.

I think Dana's characterization of my account was most accurate. I just wanted to be complete and honest, but after it all, we had a GREAT time and we're now debating over what "short trips" to take before our APs expire next December.

We're definately going back as many times as reasonable this year, but each trip teaches us something in terms of what to do, what not to do, what to avoid and how to find magic in unusual places.

You're right Matt...
I've had my share of "learning experiences" too...on every trip! But somehow it never gets to me. I'm always honest with my TRs as well, because I don't see why I should gloss it over--it's a report, not a fairy tale!

I've got this horrible phobia that I can't get over. I think I'm just completely PARANOID at the moment......because DH has never been to Disney World and we're going in only 118 days!!!!!!!
