Re: Wife afraid of Rockin Roller Coaster
You have to try it at least once. It's a quick and smooth coaster that is a visual delight with kick butt tunes pumping through the speakers of you car. No one says you have to do it twice, but to not try it at all...that's a shame. Do it first thing in the morning and get it out of the way. No waiting to see if you will anxiety. I highly reccomend sitting in the center for your first trip to see how you react to the ride. The middle is the smoothest and least intense place to ride this attraction. I got my DD on it that way and there has been no looking back since...it's our favorite ride.

Re: Wife afraid of Rockin Roller Coaster
RnRc is AWESOME, boucher0911! If ya love Aerosmith, you just HAVE to go in. And if not, go on in for the hidden Mickeys! (I spotted two!) ^_^ It's a very safe and fun ride, and it'll be over before you realize. So give it a go, if just once.

Re: Wife afraid of Rockin Roller Coaster
I just knew DH was going to try to get help in trying to convince me to go on RnR. I'm terrified of coasters!! I'm a big chicken, what can I say? I've never done ToT either. I'm afraid I'll get sick a ruin the rest of the day at the park. To give you all an idea of how bad I am, I almost couldn't walk after the Jurassic Park ride at Universal a few years back. I though I was having a heart attack!! Am I the only DC chicken? Someone else help me out here...

I got my wife on RnR once in 2001. She won't do it again. Like you she doesn't like coasters, not even Space Mountain. I think you should at least try it to say you tried it. However, ToT my DW loves! Even my 4yo went on it twice. This attraction is so much more than a thrill ride. In fact, the show leading up to the drop is one of the best imagineering in Orlando. You've got to try this ride. I've yet to meet a person who didn't like it once they tried it. *Sits back to wait for all ToT haters to contradict above statement.*

Re: Wife afraid of Rockin Roller Coaster
boucher -
Honestly, if you are that afraid, you shouldn't do it. Tell DH he will have to ride solo (sorry RnRdad) Trying it once won't kill you though. Maybe try it at the end of the day so if you feel not so good after, it's the end of the day and you can end it then. It's your trip though and you do what you feel comfortable with. I did Mission Space once with my DD and you couldn't willingly get me back on again...I just didn't like it, but I don't have that "waht if?" to question whether or not I would like it. Coasters are a bird of a different feather. If you don't like coasters, then you won't like RnR. It's truely a coaster in every sense of the word...a kick butt one at that.

Re: Wife afraid of Rockin Roller Coaster
One of my most treasured photos is of my wife getting off R&RC with an "I'm going to kill you" look in her eyes.
I worked and worked on her to get her 50/50 (if she would ride it or not) and then a CM at the ride pushed her over the edge; she'll never forgive me (or the CM). After that, I just had to accept that some people just aren't thrill riders. Period. Bruce Ooops....back to lurk mode. ![]() Last edited by brumcg; 01-12-2005 at 10:45 AM. |

Re: Wife afraid of Rockin Roller Coaster
My DH is the chicken!! I've not rode it yet since on our last trip we didn't stay long enough and felt pressed for time...HOWEVER, I've already informed him that on our trip in May he and DS will be waiting for me! I won't push him to ride it YET since right now we'd have to do the child swap anyway...but once DS is old enough I'll be nagging them both to try it too!!
