What to do at christmas/ new year 2005/6

Hi I need help, we are staying at wdw for christmas and newyear at the end of this year. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of:

1.Where was the best place to eat on Christmas Day?
2. What park is the best to visit on Christmas Day?
3. Where are the best fireworks over christmas/ new year?

We did think about eating at the California Grill on new years eve to watch the fireworks at MK but after reading bits on DC i am not sure .

We were in MK in July 4th 2004 and it was busy is christmas much the same?

Any ideas would be great

Thanks

Hi Missy H. I can't really help you as where the best places to eat/watch fireworks etc. I know many others here can, they're great here, but welcome to DC, i'm sure you will find all of your answers here.

First, Welcome to DC! This is a great place to be for the next year while planning your trip.

I don't know the best places to eat/visit on Christmas but Pleasure Island has an awesome NYE party.

Lisa

Re: What to do at christmas/ new year 2005/6

Christmas is a special time at WDW, with so many activities going on that it's really a matter of personal preference as far as what to do. Here's a link to Holiday Happenings at Walt Disney World that will give you tons of information and help you make choices. Be aware, though, that the period between Christmas and New Year's is the busiest time of the year in the parks and it likely will be very crowded. If you're planning on Christmas dinner in the parks, make a Priority Seating reservation as soon as possible. It will be virtually impossible to eat when and where you want on Christmas Day without a PS.

Never stayed during the holidays, too crowded for us. Just wanted to welcome you to DC.

Try Ultimate Guide to WDW. If your going to make a PS for Christmas Day, you will have to call 7:00am EST on the dot when you can call. The Guide walks you almost step by step on how to get through....that's if you are lucky.

Have fun planning!!

Re: What to do at christmas/ new year 2005/6

This has nothing to do with dining, but a nice holiday activity.
The Wilderness lodge has carriage rides during the holiday season but they book quickly.
We were unable to go to the carraige ride at the WL, so the CM I talked to suggested a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness. Well it was pretty neat. So many of the campsites were decorated for the holidays. I guess some people stay at FW for an extended time over the winter, and they really go all out to decorate the campsites.
The driver plays christmas music and it was really a nice holiday activity. I would suggest trying a carriage ride at WL or FW while you are there. They price was not too bad either. I think it was $35.00.
Christmas time at WDW can be hectic and crowded but the decoration and magical feeling are well worth it. Have a great trip!
