WDW News

It seems that we have missed a lot of news going on inside WDW.

1) Biometric scans now required. According to MousePlanet it is now required that in order to use the Adult MYW tickets you have to do a biometric scan. Child tickets are exempt from these scans.

2) Timekeeper gone for good?! According to the WDWMagic Forums the queue for the Timekeeper is now a Meet & Greet.

3) Monorail man replaced! It has been reported that the Monorail voice has now been replaced with a more computerized voice. The new voice includes more up to date info, and around the holidays was telling people about WDW at the holidays. We know for sure that this is now in on the MK Express line, and may be on the Resort Line. Sorry guys no more, "Please step away from the doors... and then the Spanish translation."

BTW: No, I have not been posting on other forums. I was doing some research, and came across all this info on their sites.

Re: WDW News

We were there last week and the voice was still the same. Maybe they are cycling in new material or something to that effect.

Glad to hear it! That voice is a Disney classic and would definitely be missed by our family!

Re: WDW News

Well good and bad news for you all!! Monorail man for the spiel on the ride has changed yes but the voice for everyones favorite, "Please stand clear of the doors" has remained the same. Somewhat good news, WDW Guest Relations, Resort Guest Services Desks, and WDW Guest Communications have heard multiple complaints from regular guests (and some cast members ) about the new voice. Hopefully they will find out they made a horrible mistake. In addition, Timekeeper is not permanently closed, the meet and greet is off to the right side of the entrance to the Timekeeper queue. Also Disney is using a "ticket tag" system (a.k.a. Biometrics) for all tickets. This will ensure that they guest who purchased the ticket is the only guest using that ticket. In addition all ticket media must now be signed on the back as another proof of identity, I can't say for sure but this is most likely a way of shutting down street side illegal ticket vendors. Don't worry Disney is not taking your fingerprints it is merely measurements of your fingers that are unique for each individual person on Earth. Hope this helps!

Re: WDW News

Thanks Disneyboy, I hoped most of this news was wrong. I better stop surfing these rumors/news sites. 2 out of 3 stories right....... Idk how good that is.
