Our plans changed AGAIN

For some reason, I was hesitant to book the flight for this trip - Committment issues perhaps? Anway, I finally booked our flights last night, and are flying out one night early. So now, we will wake up in PC instead of spending the morning traveling!

Now, I'm thinking of getting the 5 day MYW (it's almost the same price as the 4 day), and I have to rethink my itinerary! We've decided to save the money and not get the hopping option, so my plan is to visit the parks that have the LATE extra magic hours.

Here's what I have now. I'm trying to find a balance of resort/easy days so we are not completely exhausted, but it's tough to fit everything in.

LMK what you think!

Tuesday - fly out of PVD at 5:15pm / arrive at MCO at 10:02pm
We'll get our car and head to the hotel

Wednesday - MK will be open late, so I'm hoping to get lucky and get CRT for today. We'll get to MK fairly early (the kids NEVER sleep late) come back to PC for a break and head back to MK for the evening.

Thursday - EPCOT - same as MK day - we have PS for Norway dinner.

Friday - Resort Day - PS at O'Hana's at 8:10 - if we are up to it, we may watch fireworks from the beach.

Saturday - PS at Chef Mickeys for breakfast then head over to Typhoon - This PS was made when I thought this would be a resort day. May try to swap Chef Mickeys with O'hana's.

Sunday - Check out of PC
Head over to MGM
Check into condo and take a break
Back to MGM for PS at Mamma's and Fantasmic

Monday - Resort Day - maybe Disney Quest

Tuesday - Animal Kingdom

Wednesday - Blizzard Beach - Arabian nights

Thursday - MK - if I don't get CRT on Wednesday, I'll try for today

Friday - Watermania

Saturday - Universal

Sunday - fly home early

Arabian nights, watermania, and universal came with our condo reservations, so I would like to use them, but the end of the week is looking pretty busy. I'm hoping we'll be OK because AK, and the water park days are fairly short days.

Please give me any advice you may have for me!
Lisa

Re: Our plans changed AGAIN

Are you getting the tickets with the plus options? If you get a 5 day with Plus, no park hopping, that does expire, you'll get 3 plusses, which would include the water parks and Disney Quest. What time of year are going? Those tickets, btw, would run $ 246.02 in you buy them in advance. Without the Plus option, you'd have to pay separately for the water parks and DisneyQuest.

Re: Our plans changed AGAIN

Yes, I am including the plus option. The girls LOVE the waterparks, so we'll go to both (if they're open) and then I figured we may as well check out DQ since we'll have the 3 plus options.

I just got off the phone with Reservations and I am so frustrated. Since I want the dining plan, I have to get a package. I cannot get my room discount with a package. So, basically, it will cost me $200 more to get the package including dining. So I need to figure out if the dining plan is worth $90 per day (35x2 + 10x2) plus $200 for the 5 days. That would be like paying $130 per day for the meal plan.

Since I have so many buffet style meals booked, I just don't see the value. I need to crunch numbers, but I think I'll be doing the tickets with no meal plan.

Re: Our plans changed AGAIN

Sounds like a good plan.

We too decided to fly in a night early to wake up in WDW. You are so exhausted being up like 2:30 in the am to catch a 6:00 am flight, crazy we thought. So this time we are leaving at night, around 7:00pm to arrive at MCO 9:40pm.

I also agree with Storm, if you can afford it, go with the extras. For a little extra each person, you can get unlimited park hopping and visits to the water park & DQ. The money you are going to pay for the waterpark you could use towards buying the add ons for your tickets.

Whatever you decide, all looks great.

I wish I had thought a bit harder when purchasing. I got my triple A discount on the room, but I think it might have been worth it (for us) to take the package and the dining plan. But that would still mean purchasing one meal a day, generally breakfast, which I don't eat, but DH and DD and DS are HUGE breakfast eaters, so I'd still end up needing money set aside for food. I just told them all, cheap counter service is all we're doing, with 3 exceptions. The Princess Storybook Breakfast (just me and DD), dinner at Chef Mickey's and a lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe, two places we've never managed to get to before. I may do the Fantasmic Dining Package too, which would mean one more, but otherwise, it's burgers and fries (or the equivalent) the rest of the time.

But I'll miss the nicer meals this time. For us, eating well is part and parcel of a vacation...but as I keep telling myself, who cares? We'll be in Disney World!

Re: Our plans changed AGAIN

Libade, I noticed you are flying out of PVD. I live in RI and it looks like we will be down at WDW around the same time. We are staying at PC 4/16 - 4/22 then we are staying two days at Universal. This will be out first time at PC and the kids are so excited.

Small World (hee hee hee) isn't it? I actually grew up in RI - Lincoln to be exact. I made the big move across the border to MA about 15 years ago.

Our visits will overlap - we're checking out of PC on 4/17!! How old are the kids? Mine are 6 and 8 - 2 girls (or should I say 2 princesses?)

Re: Our plans changed AGAIN

What a small world we live in. We live in Warwick. I worked at AT Cross in Lincoln many years ago. I have two kids DS (9) DD (7). We are also going with my SIL and BIL they have two kids around the same age as mine. My SIL is surprising her kids. They have no idea they are going to WDW. My kids also have no idea that their cousins will be joining us on this trip. We are not telling them until the day we leave. We are actually driving down (none of us are fans of flying). We have requested the 50's bldg at PC. Have you ever stayed at PC before? It looks great!

HI libade and top princess....we'll be down around the same time too. We're checking into PC on 4-15. We'll all probably pass each other and not even know it. Hope you all have fun.
