Does anybody know for sure if a Disney Store gift certificate can be used to buy admission tickets at the Disney store. I know that the stores sell the tickets. I read in a newsletter that since disney stores are no longer owned by Disney that the gift certificates could not be used to buy admission tickets. Was planning on buying tickets with the gift certificates.

A Disney Store Gift Certificate?? I didn't think they sold those. Are they Disney Dollars??

If it's sold in the store, they have to accept the gift certificates.

Check on the back of the card it will say what you can use it for there. Also if you can't do that just buy disney dollars and use them to buy it.- hope this helps!

At The Disney stores we have gift cards. If that is what your talking about then yes you can use them to buy tickets. They are good for any purchase in the store.

Thanks, I am talking about the gift cards that are sold by the Disney stores. Can Disney Dollars be used at the Disney Stores in order to buy tickets? I thought that the Disney Dollars were good a Disney World.

I plan on giving and receiving gift cards from a local Disney Store. When I have enough I will buy my tickets. All I am asking for this year for birthdays and holidays is gift certificates in order to fund my upcoming trip!

OH ok, yes those can be used to purchase tickets and also the disney dollars can be used.
That's a good idea about asking for that kinda stuff but my family wouldn't go for it.

Its good to know about the disney dollars. I am not sure that my family will go for it either. They complain that the kids have every toy, book, clothes and all other kid items, but for birthdays, Christmas and other special events they buy more of the same stuff.

I am asking for gift certificates to offset the trip, don't know if they will get what I ask. The kids have even told them to buy gift certificates are good as presents as long as they get to go back to Disney World.

I just read in my weekly Allears that the gift cards can't be used to purchase tickets any longer.

But I take it TinaMarie works for Disney Direct????

Thats where I read it also! It was a reader saying that, so maybe she was given the wrong information from her local store.

I actually work at a regular Disney Store, not Disney Direct. The last I knew you could use them to purchase the tickets. Unless something has changed and the boss didn't tell me. I'm going in tonight I'll double check again.

Ok here's the scoop....I talked to the boss tonight...actually didn't have to work just went in to pick a few things up. Anyways I asked about using the disney dollars or the store gift card and he said that we no longer do that. Probably something new because of the other store taking over. Sorry.

Christie Falck shares: I received a couple of Disney Store gift cards as Christmas gifts and wanted to use them when I purchased my park pass for an upcoming trip, but the Disney Store personnel informed me that since they're no longer owned by Disney, customers can't apply Disney Store gift cards toward their park pass purchase. I had to use those cards on purchasing clearance items at outrageously low prices instead.
