Taxi Service in WDW?
Staying on site first time ever and I read somewhere that if wait for bus back to CBR (especially from MK) is really long that you can opt for a private taxi ride for around $10. Anyone ever done this? We will not have a rental, and will rely on park transportation. We'll have 5 yr old and 12 yr old, so a long wait for bus at end of very long day does not seem like fun.
It would be well worth the $$. Any advise is welcome. ![]() |

Re: Taxi Service in WDW?
I've never used the taxi at WDW -- we've always just waited for the bus -- but taxis are relatively cheap ($10 might even be a high estimate), and, as I've heard, they're an easy way to cut the wait. BTW - any CM can call a taxi for you, I believe.

Re: Taxi Service in WDW?
I would give Disney Transportation a chance. The lines can look long, but then they send in 3 busses, and the line shortens. Yes, you can take a taxi though. You can ask any CM where to catch a taxi, and most parks have a taxi stand.

Re: Taxi Service in WDW?
We always go to WDW in the summer when crowds are high, however, we have always had good luck with the transportation. Even if you take a taxi from the MK you still have to get to the TTC by ferry or monorail and that will require a wait. Give the transportation a try, you may be surprised at how well it works.

Re: Taxi Service in WDW?
Thanks for the encouragement. BTW- we're bringing an umbrella stroller for the little one who is way too heavy to carry if he gets tired of walking. That should help, too.

Re: Taxi Service in WDW?
The stroller is a really good idea. We took one last summer for our 6 year old. The days are long and hot and that's a lot of walking for little legs.

Re: Taxi Service in WDW?
We ordered a Combi on-line yesterday. Only a few dollars more than if we rented one everyday. But then if you do that, there is still the long walk to parking lot. Too bad we already gave the stroller we had to relative. We thought we'd never use it again. Oh well, we can always sell this one or donate it for a needy family in town.

Re: Taxi Service in WDW?
The stroller is a great idea. When we thought our son was too old for a stroller, we went without one. We ended up renting one. My husband was getting tired of carrying my son on his shoulders!
We were concernced with the Disney Transportation when we first started going to Disney. I don't really like public transportation. I like to have my own space. But it was not bad at all. We have been during peak season, and the waits were never very long. The buses did get crowded, but the rides were not too long, so we just accepted it.

Re: Taxi Service in WDW?
The longest bus ride I have expirienced was going from PC to MK. It was 35-40 minutes long.
