May 5th - No Fantasmic Dinner Packages?

DW just called for a PS for a Fantasmic Dinner package on Thursday, May 5th, and the woman said that Fantasmic Packages wouldn't be sold for that night. Anybody know what is going on that night? (Disney Websites appear to be down right now) Are they just not going to do Fantasmic that night?

I believe that's the kickoff to the Happiest Celebration On Earth, but I don't understand why there are no Fantasmic Dinner packages.

They didn't give you a reason? I guess it must have to do with the celbration starting that night...maybe they have some surprise thingy going on or something. Try calling again and booking it and when they say you can't...ask them why? I am dying to know now.

DW asked (believe me, she's not shy in these matters) and the lady said they didn't know because they didn't have the May schedule in their system yet. I checked WDW website and the May schedule is not filled in. Very strange. Anyway, we decided for Chef Mickey's that night and we'll try to do a Fantasmic Package on our other unbooked night.

We had our FDP cancelled in Dec because they had a private party scheduled in MGM that night. There could be some VIP thing going on then.

I would bet you anything that the Fantasmic performance that night would be part of the press event. I'll also bet you that the general public won't even be allowed to watch Fantasmic that night without the packages.

I agree with mickaholic -- I'd guess that the parks are going to be packed that night for the kickoff celebration, and that everywhere you look there'll be press covering the event. Can you get the dinner package for another night?

May 5th is the kickoff celebration for the 50th anniversary. I don't know what WDW has planned, but Disneyland is actually 100% closed the day before to prepare for it. It sounds like it's going to be big. Perhaps Fantasmic at WDW isn't showing that night.

We got PS's at Chef Mickey's for the 5th and scheduled Fantasmic for Saturday May 7th. When the wife called for the 7th, she asked about the 5th again and they said that they are opening the Stunt Spectacular that day in conjunction with the celebration and that they don't know whether the dinner packages will be offered that day.

perhaps there is some reason that the special seating will be blocked off. That would be my guess- I cant imagine that it would be because there is no fantasmic that night.
