Best places to view Wishes & Illuminations?

I figured there is no better group of people to ask this question! Where (inside the parks) do you go to watch Wishes and Illuminations? I'm hoping you all can give me some tips on some of the "hidden" good spots that not everyone knows about. I've seen Illuminations before, but of course had some tall guy's big head in my way through the whole thing (I'm only 5'3"!). We watched it from the end of the lagoon in Future World - now I know that wasn't the best spot (way too crowded). I have never seen Wishes and we are making that a priority this trip. I have no idea where to set up camp to view this show. We will be inside the park, so it would need to be a location within the park. Anyone have tips?

Re: Best places to view Wishes & Illuminations?

I don't know which is the right spot for Wishes, but I stood on the bridge going into Adventure Land.
Illuminations, we stood on the lower level of the bridge in World Showcase.
If you book as PS at Rose & Crown pub and request a table outside you can get a good view there from what I hear.

Hope I helped.
Maybe someone else can give you a better location.

Re: Best places to view Wishes & Illuminations?

Haven't yet seen Wishes but pretty much anywhere on Main Street was great for the previous FW show.

A great spot for Illuminations is St. Angel Cafe (table on the rail) but downside is you have to get there way ahead of time.

Re: Best places to view Wishes & Illuminations?

I love watching Wishes from right on good ol' Main Street USA. I think it has the best straight on view of the fireworks and the castle and has really good music quality. But thats just my opinion, Im sure there are many other great areas, what are some other great areas? Maybe Ill have to like view it from a different spot when I go in July? Im sure we will see it at least 3 times (we love to see it more than once) But I will want to view it from Main Street at least once so I can get a good view of the castle with all the 50th decor, ya know? :-) :-)

Re: Best places to view Wishes & Illuminations?

I prefer to watch wishes from the backside of the Castle near Dumbo. Not crowded at all. We sit, eat ice cream and let the park clear after the show. It is nice to have Main Street all to yourselves after the crowds pour out of the Kingdom.

Yeah, I love having MS to myself once the park clears out after the fireworks. Its really fun and kind of relaxing, or so to me it is....

We watched Wishes from Main St, near the Tomorrowland entrance. Good view.

Re: Best places to view Wishes & Illuminations?

We watched Illuminations from the patio at the Rose & Crown (after dinner) - that was unbeatable. Almost TOO close - it was LOUD!

We watched Wishes from right out in front of the Crystal Palace. We had a great view and it wasn't crowded at all.

Re: Best places to view Wishes & Illuminations?

we had quite a surprise viewing of wishes on our recent trip. We had just finished the hoop-de-doo show and were on the boat from ft. wilderness to the MK right when wishes was beginning. We got a beautiful view without all the loud booms!

Re: Best places to view Wishes & Illuminations?

I have heard the best spot for Wishes is the Tomorrowland bridge. Tinkerbell flies right over you. I have also heard that near Dumbo is a good different vantage. I believe it is Towncar T, that shared that with us.

As far as Illuminations there are many good spots. The are all on the WS. These are not ranked in the best order but here is a list (1)In front of the Mexico Pavilion, or anywhere on that side. (2) Go up the steps ontop of the Japan Pavilion, and thats a great spot. (3) Any of the floating docks. (4) Make a PS for Rose and Crown Dining Room for around 7:30PM, eat dinner and then stick around to watch Illuminations which is usually at 9.

Re: Best places to view Wishes & Illuminations?

One of my favorite preffered places to watch Illuminations is from France, I just like the night time (and day time as well) atmosphere that land gives off.

A great place for Wishes is the Plaza Pavillion...just get a seat close to the edge (and we managed to do it on Christmas week!) and it's BEATIFUL.
